\u00a0Act as financial custodian for EPPF\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tDetermine and implement policies, procedures and processes for Finance in line with the wider EPPF Finance policies, regulatory\/statutory requirements and good practice
\n\tPeriodically review the extent to which policies, procedures and processes are adhered to and take corrective action where needed.
\n\tEstablish and implement the necessary governance and decision-making frameworks within Finance.
\n\tImprove and optimise finance processes and systems from time to time
\n\tPerform the role of custodian of signing authorities in accordance with agreed delegation of authority.
\n\tProvide appropriate and accurate information for internal and external audit purposes within specified deadlines.<\/p>\n
Manage the annual budgeting process<\/p>\n
\tLead the annual budget process for the Fund.
\n\tProactively manage costs against approved budget, provide meaningful variance analysis reports and ensure corrective action is taken.
\n\tUndertake periodic cost reviews and identify areas for cost optimisation
\n\tIdentify and assess applicable cost metrics, track and report on these regularly<\/p>\n
Manage the Financial Reporting process<\/p>\n
\tGenerate monthly management accounts and flash reports, as required.
\n\tDevelop monthly financial reports and present to relevant Management, Executive and Fund Committees for approval, reflecting accurate information by due dates.
\n\tGenerate Annual Financial Statements in compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements and oversee the external audit process in line with annual reporting plan.
\n\tLead the Integrated Report for CFO finalisation and approval<\/p>\n
Stakeholder management and finance business partnering support\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tAssist the CFO to execute financial policy reviews, operational activities and stakeholder management to enable the strategic focus the CFO position requires.
\n\tProvide input and act as a sounding board for tactical and strategic decisions taken by the CFO and other Fund Executives.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0
\n\tUnderstand the EPPF\u2019s revenue and\/or cost drivers and advise on performance improvement initiatives, preparing business case, financial analysis and making subsequent recommendations to the CFO and Fund Executives
\n\tWhere necessary, stand in for the CFO when time or operational requirements require this
\n\tManage external relationships with bankers, external auditors and other strategic partners.<\/p>\n
Provide financial governance and oversight for EPPF projects<\/p>\n
\tProvide financial representation and oversight for strategic EPPF projects ensuring that business case ROI is effectively tracked and reported proactively
\n\tPlan and lead finance projects to ensure that they are successfully implemented against plan and managed within cost and time constraints.
\n\tCheck that effective structures are in place for finance projects and that project milestones and objectives are met
\n\tMonitor that Finance project risks and benefits are clearly defined
\n\tCommunicate with relevant stakeholders to ensure that finance projects are aligned within the context of the EPPF and comply with objectives<\/p>\n
Oversee Accounts Receivable and Payable and Cash Management and Taxation<\/p>\n
\tOversee performance of relevant direct reports and ensure Internal financial controls over accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash management and taxation are adequate and operating effectively, at all times.
\n\tReview and approve bank cash reconciliations to ensure receipts of all monies.
\n\tAuthorise specific actions related to investments administration and payments to ensure that these processes function effectively.
\n\tEnsure that the EPPF continues to have sufficient funds to operate, cash flow remains in line with expected projections.
\n\tMonitor that sufficient amounts are guaranteed and that there are no overdrafts<\/p>\n
Manage Accounting processes<\/p>\n
\tEnsure accurate and timely of posting and updating to General Ledger
\n\tOversee the maintenance of the chart of accounts and accounts groups in terms of completeness and accuracy.
\n\tOversee month-end and year-end journal entries in accordance with stipulated policy and procedure.
\n\tPerform consolidations, reflecting accurate information by due dates.
\n\tAchieve close off periods, as scheduled.<\/p>\n
Oversee Asset Management<\/p>\n
\tEnsure Fund\u2019s assets are acquired, depreciated, maintained and disposed off in line with relevant policies.
\n\tSafeguard assets.
\n\tDeal with escalated issues regarding asset management appropriately.<\/p>\n
People Leadership\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tLead, guide and manage direct reports and other members of the team,
\n\tEnsure sufficient capable resources are in place to meet service and value delivery to stakeholders, maintaining the effective and efficient capability of the department.
\n\tBuild a high performing team where the best people are deployed in the right roles and deliver against strategy.
\n\tEnsure that all employees are motivated, developed and sufficiently rewarded and recognised.
\n\tManage employees\u2019 performance and ensure that their individual and collective performance is of the required standard.
\n\tImplement and maintain an effective system of internal controls and delegations of authority for the department, to ensure accountability for decisions made.

Duties of the SAICA CA(SA) Reviewer, Evaluator and Assessor<\/p>\n
\tAttend refresher training on a regular basis.
\n\tMeet with the CA Trainees prior to the beginning of a rotation and the content of the meeting shall cover the items listed on page 23 of the Reviewer Training manual.
\n\tMonitor the trainee\u2019s performance on an on-going basis and provide regular feedback to the trainee.
\n\tComplete the Technical Skills Review and Professional Skills Review as defined by the EPPF guideline (policy).
\n\tComplete evaluations as defined by the EPPF guidelines.
\n\tWhen required act as an assessor as defined by the EPPF guidelines and SAICA requirements.<\/p>\n
