\tOverall direction of and administration of the construction contract and site staff in accordance with the requirements of the respective contracts.
\n\tManagement of the construction package in accordance with GCC2015
\n\tCommunicate the Engineer\u2019s instructions to the Contractor
\n\tReceive and check for compliance with contract requirements, all performance bonds, insurance certificates and policies and guarantees.
\n\tLiase with local communities and land owners and confirm compensation payments in conjunction with the employer where required.
\n\tAssist with obtaining required permits and related documentation necessary for the construction works.
\n\tCoordinate compliance of Contracts with the team of Contract Participation Goal facilitators etc.
\n\tMonitors the Contractor\u2019s progress of projects on site and keeps in contact with the Senior RE
\n\tRefers significant queries on design or engineering matters to the Design Engineer together with approval of materials and alternative design proposals as required
\n\tEnsures that design specifications or other problems that may have relevance to future designs are brought to the attention of the design Engineer
\n\tVerifies that the Contractor and his\/her staff understand the obligations under the OHSA
\n\tAssists with Environmental Management of the Contractor\u2019s work
\n\tLiaises with the relevant service providers to co-ordinate the alteration or relocation of their services
\n\tLiaise with Health and Safety Agent, Social and Gender Specialist and Social and Environmental Specialists with regard to social, gender, environmental, health and safety plans, monitoring and reporting requirements
\n\tReviews and Approves monthly Payment Certificates.
\n\tAgrees measurement of quantities with the Contractor
\n\tIdentify implementation\/completion risks, program budget risks and developing risk management tools to avoid,mitigate and manage such risks.
\n\tReview and evaluate claims and variations received from the contractor in conjunction with the Senior Resident Engineer
\n\tMaintain a daily site diary for the contract
\n\tEnsure consistent management of social and technical concerns
\n\tRegularly reviews outputs from Assistant Resident Engineer to ensure accurate capturing \/ recording of relevant contractual information
\n\tMonitors progress as per approved construction programme and negotiates rectification of delays and work not scheduled
\n\tMaintains a costing system to monitor costs to date and the project final contract value
\n\tPrepares Variation Orders for approval by the Employers Agent and Employer
\n\tAssist the Engineer with the preparation of a list of outstanding works for the progression to Completion Certificate and issue to all concerned
\n\tArranges the completion of \u201cas built\u201d drawings and Construction Report
\n\tExamine and measure excavations, consent to work being covered up and instruct the Contractor to uncover work and search for defects.
\n\tRequire the Contractor to repair and make good any damage or physical loss.
\n\tApproval of practical and final completion certificates.
\n\tCollate the submission of all reports, including the inception report and all subsequent progress reports, practical completion reports and final handovers and close out reports
\n\tRequests Accident Reports
\n\tRequests quotations for material
\n\tInstructs the Contractor to have a qualified Site Agent to assist in or make measurements, and to furnish particulars
\n\tRequest and record facts and circumstances relevant to a claim
\n\tWitnesses all factual circumstances which have bearing on claims for extension of time
\n\tManage all on site quality and administration requirements<\/p>\n

\tTertiary qualification (BScEng or equivalent)
\n\tProfessionally registered with ECSA as a PrEng
\n\tProfessionally registered with SACPCMP as a PrCPM an advantage<\/p>\n
Experience:<\/p>\n
\t10 – 15+ years\u2019 experience on major civil construction projects
\n\tExperience managing large multi-disciplinary projects<\/p>\n
