Job Description<\/p>\n
\tBachelor of Science degree in Computer Science, Information Systems OR equivalent work experience
\n\tExperience in IT Infrastructure support and server administration in a mid-sized environment (200 – 1000+ server systems)
\n\tExperience with data center M&E equipment
\n\tDemonstrated examples of a drive to dig into the details of a system or process to solve customer problems
\n\tExperience working in a \u201cmission critical operations\u201d environment
\n\tThe position involves on-call which means you should have a driving license and be able to reach out to the Data Center site within 60 mins approximately and may require working in cramped spaces or elevated locations.
\n\tAbility to speak confidently and to communicate clearly in a virtual environment
\n\tStrong adherence to processes and be a Process Champion
\n\tGood communication skills (oral & written) and ability to interact professionally with a diverse group of customers and staff
\n\tExperience providing client-facing, direct customer support and service.
\n\tAbility to work productively in remote cross-functional teams or resourcefully and independently as an individual
\n\tHighly service-oriented, reliable, responsible, self-motivated
\n\tGood English command\u00a0
\n\tRequired Data Center experience:
\n\tBasic knowledge of data center design, including electrical and cooling plant & operation thereof
\n\tBasic knowledge of airflow management (hot aisle, cold aisle, containment etc.)
\n\tRack, stack equipment including commissioning of new racks
\n\tStrong structured cabling skills on fibre & copper (e.g. looming, term & test)
\n\tRequired systems & hardware expertise\/experience:
\n\tSystems administration (Linux and\/or Windows Servers)
\n\tHardware repair, diagnosis & break \u00a0\/ fix
\n\tNetworking fundamentals (DNS, TCP\/IP, basic troubleshooting)
\n\tIT Hardware Concepts (RAID, SAN, x86 architecture, SCSI, FC, ethernet, iLO)
\n\tBase Operating System Installs and configuration
\n\tCore OS Services: SSH, Telnet, RDP, FTP, NFS, DNS, DHCP etc.<\/p>\n
Responsibilities<\/p>\n
\tAct as HW support expert liaison to other technical teams & non-technical teams (e.g.: networking, compute, compliance, business operations)
\n\tUnderstand internal customer problem and provide technical solution in timely manner
\n\tParticipate in the installation, monitoring, maintenance, support, and optimization of all production server hardware
\n\tSystem board level repair and fault diagnosis to SLAs
\n\tPlanning and commissioning new rack positions
\n\tInvolvement with the design and commissioning of new whitespaces
\n\tStructured cabling installation is a significant part of this position
\n\tKeep up with the latest technologies and apply them appropriately
\n\tAdherence to defined Health & Safety processes at all times
\n\tWorking as part of a multi-disciplinary team without friction
\n\tAdditional on premise work at customer locations may be required \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
