\tContribute to the design and prototyping of analytic engines and services with a foundational understanding of machine learning, data mining, and information retrieval concepts<\/p>\n
Job Responsibilities<\/p>\n
\tDevelop statistical models and algorithms through the use of libraries and abstractions
\n\tConducts explority data analysis
\n\tCreate value out of various datasets
\n\tProvide insights to BI and BA to further exploit and present their models.
\n\tApply advanced analytical techniques such as machine learning and artificial intelligence in order to derive business value.
\n\tConduct data discovery for inclusion in models.
\n\tProficiency in a programming toolset (for e.g, Python, R) for data manipulation and basic data analysis tasks.
\n\tGrow in knoweldge of latest tools and techniques with guidance from senior team members.
\n\tAble to query and pre-process (wrangle\/munge) data.
\n\tCollaborates with senior data scientists\/analysts\/engineers to implement and deploy scalable solutions.\u00a0
\n\tImplement and maintain ML models an d algorithms that drive innovation throughout the organization.
\n\tConduct self-development throughresearching best practices, conducting experiments, and collaborating with industry leaders.
\n\tMonitor and maintain models in production and re-train if necessary. \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0
\n\tSupport the achievement of the business strategy, objectives and values.
\n\tStay abreast of developments in field of expertise.
\n\tEnsure personal growth and enable effectiveness in performance of roles and responsibilities.

\n\tDevelop Data Science Use Cases with a small team in an agile fashion.

\n\tExploratory data analysis and visualisations using large data sets.
\n\tAcquire and load relevant data and generate features from this data sets.
\n\tMaintain production Models as required.<\/p>\n
Essential Qualifications – NQF Level<\/p>\n
\tMatric \/ Grade 12 \/ National Senior Certificate
\n\tAdvanced Diplomas\/National 1st Degrees<\/p>\n
Preferred Qualification<\/p>\n
\tSTEM Qualification
\n\tEngineering Qualification,
\n\tComputer Science,
\n\tEconometrics,
\n\tMathematical Statistics,
\n\tActuary Science
\n\tMasters or Doctorate will be an added advantage<\/p>\n
Preferred Certifications<\/p>\n
\tCloud (Azure, AWS), DEVOPS or Data engineering certification. Any Data Science certification will be an added advantage, Coursera, Udemy, SAS Data Scientist certification, Microsoft Data Scientist.<\/p>\n
Minimum Experience Level<\/p>\n
\tMS\/PhD in STEM or related technical discipline
\n\t1-3 years\u2019 experience in a statistical and\/or data science role
\n\tCursory knowledge of machine learning, statistics, optimization or related field
\n\tExperience with R, Python, Matlab is required, programming in C, C++, Java
\n\tExperience working with large data sets, simulation\/ optimization and distributed computing tools (Map\/Reduce, Hadoop, Hive, Spark, Gurobi, Arena, etc.)
\n\tExcellent written and verbal communication skills along with strong desire to work in cross functional teams
\n\tAttitude to thrive in a fun, agile start-up like environment.<\/p>\n
