Job Requirements:<\/p>\n
\tDetermining project costs, including materials, labor, and other expenses, to create accurate and competitive bids.
\n\tPlan, direct, and manage full scope of electrical design and supply scope packages to ensure each stage is delivered on time delivery, on budget and to specification.
\n\tManage and drive key design and supply activities of suppliers and interface with other project stakeholders (internal and external).
\n\tDelegate tasks to multi-disciplinary project team and manage to ensure work is completed on time and to a high standard.
\n\tEnsure Supplier\u2019s deliverables and interrelated work is completed sequentially and in accordance with the contract and the project\u2019s key delivery dates.
\n\tPursue opportunities for design optimization\/ value engineering.
\n\tCommunicate outputs and guide action based on identification of any impacts on schedule, quality and cost and mitigation of impacts and reporting as required.
\n\tShare regular progress reports with stakeholders and clients.
\n\tResolve issues or delays, reduce risk of delays and cost overruns.
\n\tWork collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to solve technical, budget and time constraints.
\n\tReview project documents such as design drawings, specifications, inspection reports and changes and take appropriate action if required.
\n\tConduct regular meetings with suppliers and engineering \/ other stakeholders.
\n\tIdentify, mitigate, and escalate risks to enable the project to meet its project schedule and obligations, minimize risk and maximize opportunities for cost avoidance and\/or cost reduction.
\n\tRegular interaction with Quality to ensure timely inspections and review inspection reports to be across any material corrective actions required.
\n\tMonitor performance and\/or KPIs proactively resolve issues related to supplier performance; and ensure that all records are methodically archived in line with procedures as the project progresses.<\/p>\n
\u00a0Qualifications:<\/p>\n
\tBSc\/ Beng\/ BTech in Electrical Engineering
\n\tProfessionally registered with ECSA (PrEng or PrTech) or eligible for professional registration<\/p>\n
Experience:<\/p>\n
\tAt least 8 years of experience in the following:
\n\tProcurement of electrical plant and equipment for large infrastructure projects.
\n\tSound experience in Electrical Transmission Design Practices.
\n\tSubstation construction and installation.
\n\tHV and EHV Design\/ Transmission Design.
\n\tExperience in commissioning electrical substations will be advantageous.
\n\tStrong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
\n\tComputer proficient, Microsoft Office, AutoCAD\/ Microstation, CDEGS\/ ETAP\/ Digsilent and related Substation Software
\n\tAble to use initiative and solve problems through analytical thinking.
\n\tAble to work with cross-regional teams with a strong focus on delivering excellence.<\/p>\n
