{"id":12023,"date":"2025-06-20T14:00:17","date_gmt":"2025-06-20T14:00:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/southafrica\/job\/yard-supervisor-building-department\/"},"modified":"2025-09-21T00:24:24","modified_gmt":"2025-09-21T00:24:24","slug":"yard-supervisor-building-department","status":"expired","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/southafrica\/?post_type=job_listing&p=12023","title":{"rendered":"Yard Supervisor &#8211; Building Department"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Job Description<\/p>\n<p>\tPurpose: \u00a0The purpose of this job is to ensure the smooth running of the department, through weekly evaluations and reporting it to the Department Manager. \u00a0<br \/>\n\tThis is to ensure that sales targets are met and that housekeeping standards are maintained, in addition providing excellent customer service ensuring customer satisfaction. \u00a0<br \/>\n\tThis will include overseeing all staff and the productivity of the department resulting in promoting the business therefore creating sustainable growth and profit margins<\/p>\n<p>KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:<\/p>\n<p>\tEnsure smooth running of the department<br \/>\n\tMake sure that standard operating procedures in department are adhered to<br \/>\n\tAssign staff to specific areas and duties and monitor staff uniforms<br \/>\n\tFacilitate departmental sales meetings<br \/>\n\tConduct regular inspections with regards to the departments housekeeping, isles, merchandising and uniforms<br \/>\n\tEnsure price updates are done timeously<br \/>\n\tMonitor returns of faulty \/ damaged stock and breakages, keep CFC book up to date by monitoring reversals, follow up on repairs and quotations<br \/>\n\tSubmission of weekly and monthly reports to superior<br \/>\n\tPlan and prepare work schedules, daily registers and time and attendance of staff, including leave queries, manage overtime<br \/>\n\tConduct Performance reviews and evaluations in order to nominate staff for awards and promotions<br \/>\n\tTrain all new and old staff members (product knowledge and procedures)<br \/>\n\tAllocate and monitor floor areas for various functions (i.e. incoming stock, transfers, checking area and returns)<br \/>\n\tImplement company returns policy, i.e. returned stock should be allocated to an area with CFC note attached<br \/>\n\tEnsure tasks are delegated, pressure is applied to subordinates for meeting deadlines in a motivating manner by setting weekly targets<br \/>\n\tEnforce disciplinary code of company and apply discipline<br \/>\n\tParticipate in perpetual stock takes<br \/>\n\tEnsure housekeeping of work area<br \/>\n\tPerform any work related tasks as delegated by superior<\/p>\n<p>REQUIREMENTS:<\/p>\n<p>\tMatric or equivalent<br \/>\n\tHigher Certificate or Diploma (advantage)<br \/>\n\tBrights Leadership Training completed<br \/>\n\tBrights Induction (Service Excellence)<br \/>\n\t2 Years minimum experience in a similar role<br \/>\n\t3 Years\u2019 experience in the hardware environment<br \/>\n\tMust have previous experience in department<br \/>\n\tAbility to issues disciplinary action &amp; Initiate in a Disciplinary Enquiry<br \/>\n\tIntermediate level merchandising certificate<br \/>\n\tInhouse return p\/m2 standard<br \/>\n\tChairing disciplinary enquiry would be an advantage<br \/>\n\tDispute management &amp; Prevention training<br \/>\n\tProduct and Stock Management knowledge<br \/>\n\tInternal procedural knowledge<br \/>\n\tAbility to meet deadlines under pressure<br \/>\n\tAbility to act professional and maintain confidentiality<br \/>\n\tAbility to communicate effectively (verbal &amp; written)<br \/>\n\tPlanning, time management &amp; organising skills<br \/>\n\tMonitoring &amp; evaluation skills<br \/>\n\tMicrosoft office (Internet, E-mails, Word &amp; Excel)<\/p>\n<p>Apply via company website ( N \/ A ) or<\/p>\n<p>brights.simplify.hr<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"template":"","meta":{"_promoted":"","_job_location":"","_application":"http:\/\/brights.simplify.hr","_company_name":"Brights Hardware","_company_website":"http:\/\/N%20\/%20A","_company_tagline":"Brights Hardware was founded in 1971 by Mr. and Mrs. Luis as a General Dealer specializing in electrical contracting and repairs.
