\tFaircape Life operates 6 high-end retirement\/lifestyle villages in the Western Cape.
\n\tLocations of these estates are in Noordhoek, Kirstenhof, Tokai, Somerset West and Onrus.<\/p>\n
We are seeking a Groundsman for our facility Cle Du Cap in the Southern Suburbs.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tThe Groundsman is responsible for maintaining the gardens and grounds of the village and ensuring an acceptable appearance of trees, shrubs, flowers, beds and lawns, and to keep the grounds free from refuse, weeds, harmful insects and plant diseases.<\/p>\n
Duties will include but are not limited to the following:<\/p>\n
Garden Maintenance:<\/p>\n
\tPruning of trees and overgrown shrubs
\n\tReinstate plant beds and garden redevelopment
\n\tTurning over of plant beds
\n\tCutting of grass and trimming
\n\tWeeding\u00a0
\n\tHand\/additional watering when required<\/p>\n
Tools & Machinery:<\/p>\n
\tInspecting tools before and after use (lawnmowers, hedge trimmers, brush-cutters)
\n\tCleaning all tools at the end of each days use
\n\tOil and sharpen blades of all cutting equipment<\/p>\n
Refuse:<\/p>\n
\tCollecting of household refuse\u00a0
\n\tSorting recyclable waste from general waste
\n\tCleaning and sanitising refuse bins
\n\tLoading of garden-waste for disposal<\/p>\n
Housekeeping\/General:<\/p>\n
\tClean workshop\/canteen
\n\tClean around Body Corporate Reception, externally
\n\tOpen external dining area and courtyard umbrellas, weather permitting
\n\tClean grounds around security kiosk
\n\tInspect perimeter fence for weeds \/ vegetation, once per week
\n\tSpray perimeter fence for weeds \/ vegetation, once per month<\/p>\n
General Maintenance:<\/p>\n
\tSweep synthetic turf in courtyards
\n\tSweep paved surfaces in courtyards
\n\tSweep paved area around Healthcare
\n\tCollect leaves in courtyards<\/p>\n
Qualifications<\/p>\n
\tMatric advantageous<\/p>\n
Experience and knowledge<\/p>\n
\t1 year\u2019s relevant experience in a similar role
\n\tKnowledge of plants and gardening techniques
\n\tKnowledge of horticultural machinery and tools
\n\tKnowledge of irrigation systems
\n\tKnowledge of plants and gardening techniques
\n\tAbility to perform basic grounds maintenance tasks
\n\tAbility to lift and manipulate heavy objects
\n\tUnderstanding of health & safety rules<\/p>\n
