\tA vacancy exists for a Cost Analyst within Kazang \u2013 Micro Merchant Division, Finance in Century City, Cape Town.
\n\tThe Cost Analyst will be responsible for preparing daily\/weekly\/monthly reports, overseeing audit files, providing financial information to internal stakeholders to help them make informed business decisions, as well as tracking, analyzing, and controlling costs in order to maximize profitability
\n\tAs a Cost Analyst, you will possess an in-depth knowledge of accounting and cost-management, as well as analytical and modelling skills.
\n\tThe successful candidate will also be an excellent communicator, with superb presentation and problem-solving skills.<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:<\/p>\n
Daily\/Weekly\/Monthly Reporting<\/p>\n
\tDaily sales stats reporting, per sales rep and agent (projected sales, active devices, zero
\n\ttrading devices, average revenue per unit).
\n\tDaily\/weekly\/monthly direct sales and agents income statement reporting, including gross profit per airtime, electricity and other; actual month-to-date and projected for the month versus budget.
\n\tAssistance with monthly Dashboards which are distributed to management.
\n\tAssistance with reports for various stakeholders in the business(Excel and from Content Ready).<\/p>\n
Inventory & Device Amortization<\/p>\n
\tEnsure all inventory movements are correctly processed.
\n\tWrite off hardware spare usage on a monthly basis.
\n\tInvestigation into and write-off of stock variances on a monthly basis.
\n\tAssist with stock reconciliations between Pastel accounting system and Content Ready.
\n\tMaintain the amortization spreadsheet which calculates the monthly amortization amounts.
\n\tReconcile the amortization list to the transactional database (content Ready).<\/p>\n
Margin costing<\/p>\n
\tTesting of margin changes on the transactional database (Content Ready).
\n\tMargin control\/testing from suppliers and customers.
\n\tMonthly margin schedules.
\n\tSupplier contract control (working with Legal).<\/p>\n
Costing, Budgets and Forecasting<\/p>\n
\tChecking of monthly costs in the income statement against the budget and previous period.
\n\tAd hoc costing exercises to highlight any cost savings.
\n\tAssistance with annual budget and quarterly forecasts.<\/p>\n
Invoicing and commission calculations<\/p>\n
\tAssistance with monthly annuity invoicing calculations.
\n\tAssistance with monthly rep and manager commission calculations.<\/p>\n
Analytical and Modelling exercises<\/p>\n
\tCreating models to predict various scenarios to assist management in decision-making.
\n\tRevenue, COS and gross profit analysis.<\/p>\n
In order to be considered for this position, the following requirements must be met:<\/p>\n
\tPostgraduate accounting\/finance degree or equivalent qualification.
\n\tExperience in financial planning and analysis.
\n\tAdvanced System expertise in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
\n\t2-4 years of experience in the same or similar field.
\n\tSolid accounting skills and experience.
\n\tIndustry experience: ideally in Fintech.<\/p>\n
