\tWe are in search of a skilled and experienced Civil Infrastructure PM\/DM to lead our design team within a dynamic consultancy environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the design and management of civil infrastructure projects, particularly in sectors such as water supply, drainage, and\/or water & wastewater treatment plants.
\n\tThis role demands a professional who is adept at overseeing complex design processes, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality infrastructure solutions.<\/p>\n
Here is what you will do:<\/p>\n
\tUndertakes full day to day Design Management role on a range of complex projects or on a small programme of projects or running a significant component of a major project or programme of projects. Undertake internal team and project management responsibilities and partake in business development activities.<\/p>\n
Project & Design Leadership in Civil Infrastructure:\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tLead the design process for civil infrastructure projects, focusing on water supply, drainage, and\/or water & wastewater treatment plants, from project planning to execution and closure. \u00a0
\n\tDevelop project strategies and plans that align with project objectives and client needs.\u00a0
\n\tGuide the project team through complex technical challenges, ensuring innovative and practical solutions.<\/p>\n
Multidisciplinary Team Coordination:\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tManage and inspire multidisciplinary design teams, fostering a collaborative and efficient work environment.\u00a0
\n\tEnsure seamless integration of various engineering disciplines in the design process.\u00a0
\n\tCoordinate with other department heads to allocate resources effectively and meet project demands.\u00a0
\n\tCoordinate with various EC offices for Multidisciplinary and\/or Multicenter projects \u00a0<\/p>\n
Design Process Management\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tOversee the design stages from concept to final delivery, ensuring adherence to project timelines and specifications.\u00a0
\n\tMonitor the progress of design work, identifying and resolving any issues that arise.\u00a0
\n\tConduct regular review meetings to assess design progress and make necessary adjustments.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Quality Assurance and Standards Compliance:\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tImplement and maintain high standards of design quality, ensuring compliance with AECOM\u2019s quality principles, industry regulations and client specifications.\u00a0
\n\tRegularly review and assess design outputs for technical accuracy and innovation.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Stakeholder Engagement and Support:\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tAct as a primary point of contact for internal teams and external stakeholders regarding design matters.\u00a0
\n\tProvide expert advice and support to project teams, enhancing design outcomes and efficiency.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Budget and Resource Optimization:\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tManage project budgets, ensuring cost-effective use of resources and identifying opportunities for savings.\u00a0
\n\tOptimize the allocation of design resources to maximize efficiency and project success.\u00a0
\n\tChange management \u2013 Proactive in initiating, recording, assessing in terms of design impact\/ budget\/schedule.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Risk Management and Mitigation:\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tIdentify potential risks in the design phase and develop effective mitigation strategies.\u00a0
\n\tAddress and resolve design-related issues proactively to prevent project delays or cost overruns.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Project Documentation and Reporting:\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tMaintain comprehensive and accurate project documentation throughout the project lifecycle.\u00a0
\n\tPrepare and present regular design reports to internal teams and stakeholders for informed decision-making.\u00a0
\n\tAdapt to the AECOM Project Delivery Procedures and standards.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Here\u2019s what we\u2019re looking for:<\/p>\n
\tRegistration as PrEng with ECSA, AND
\n\tRegistration as PrCPM with SACPCMP (PrCPM), OR
\n\tCertification as PMP \/ PgMP \/ PfMP \/ PMI-SP \/ PMI-ACP with PMI
\n\tExtensive experience as a Project Manager or Design Manager in civil infrastructure projects, with a focus on water supply, drainage, and\/or water & wastewater treatment plants.\u00a0
\n\tStrong leadership skills and experience in managing multidisciplinary design teams.\u00a0
\n\tIn-depth knowledge of civil engineering principles and design standards.\u00a0
\n\tExcellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.\u00a0
\n\tProficiency in relevant design software and project management tools.\u00a0
\n\tAbility to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.\u00a0

Qualifications<\/p>\n
\tHonours degree in built environment field of study with a minimum of twelve (12) years’ relevant post-graduate experience
\n\tB-Tech degree in built environment field of study with a minimum of thirteen (13) years\u2019 relevant post-graduate experience<\/p>\n
