RESPONSIBLITIES:<\/p>\n
Credit Risk Management<\/p>\n
\tControl the opening of all new accounts.
\n\tEstablish the credit rating\/worthiness of new account applications.
\n\tImpose limitations on credit facilities where required.
\n\tMotivate granting of extended credit facilities where requested to the Financial Director.
\n\tMonitor the status of all accounts on an ongoing basis.
\n\tAdhere to company policies and procedures.<\/p>\n
Credit Control Operations<\/p>\n
\tAuthorise credit controllers\u2019 journal entries.
\n\tMonitor reconciliations, including COD accounts, on a regular basis.
\n\tImplement supply restrictions where accounts persist in being overdue for payment.
\n\tVisit key\/problem accounts to address issues and resolve outstanding debts.
\n\tAddress outstanding accounts with customers and solicit assistance from regions in collecting outstanding debts.
\n\tVisit clients with Reps and managers<\/p>\n
Collections & Legal<\/p>\n
\tHand over outstanding accounts for collection where required and handle all legal matters and correspondence involved.
\n\tHandle all legal matters and correspondence relating to liquidations and other bad debts.
\n\tMake every effort to prevent any outstanding account from becoming a bad debt.
\n\tDetermine a bad debt provision for the financial year and submit a bad debt write-off list for year-end to the Financial Director.<\/p>\n
Cash Flow & Reporting<\/p>\n
\tProduce a monthly cash flow forecast
\n\tGenerate due date monthly target goals for debt collection.
\n\tWeekly report on target achieved to credit controllers
\n\tWeekly report on COD to depots and monitoring of any irregularity in policy
\n\tMonthly reporting on local and international results and ageing
\n\tDaily monitoring of collections and bank allocations
\n\tMonitor bank statements
\n\tRelease forex funds and request authorisation on next mandate level.<\/p>\n
People Management & Leadership<\/p>\n
\tAppoint credit controllers and other staff within the debtors department.
\n\tDetermine the training needs of personnel within the department and implement suitable and approved training programmes.
\n\tEvaluate the performance of departmental personnel on a regular basis.
\n\tMotivate and support debtors personnel, always ensuring high morale and productivity.<\/p>\n
REQUIREMENTS:<\/p>\n
Education<\/p>\n
\tCredit Management Diploma (essential)
\n\tB.Com Accounting (preferential)<\/p>\n
Experience:<\/p>\n
\t5 years as a credit controller
\n\t3 years as a senior credit controller
\n\tStrong analytical, processes and procedures skills
\n\tFMCGX\/Retail experience advantageous (or systems experience)
\n\tTime management and deadline driven<\/p>\n
