Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Financial Management and Reporting:<\/p>\n
\tExecute monthly\/quarter\/year-end Close processes to ensure timely and accurate Close and financial analysis, ensuring accurate accruals compilation and posting, detailed trial balance analysis and review.
\n\tOversee the maintenance of accounts and records by managing disbursements, expenses and income.
\n\tCompile and analyse financial information through preparation of reports, general ledger entries and journal entries.
\n\tAssist the Finance Manager in overseeing the accounts payable function.
\n\tEnsuring the availability of funds to support business operations, managing cash flows, and optimizing working capital.
\n\tAssist in the production of financial statements, budgets, and other financial reports.
\n\tMonitor departmental spending, project expenditures and provide variance analysis support to department heads and project leads.<\/p>\n
Audit, Planning and Execution:<\/p>\n
\tAssist the Finance Manager in executing the annual audit.
\n\tCollaborating with auditors and assisting with the audit planning and execution.<\/p>\n
Fixed Asset Management:<\/p>\n
\tMaintain and update the fixed asset register on Sage intact.
\n\tPerform regular reconciliations of fixed asset general ledger accounts and fixed asset register.
\n\tEnsure accurate monthly accounting for fixed assets and depreciation.<\/p>\n
Payroll Reconciliation:<\/p>\n
\tPerform a reconciliation between general ledger, payroll and exception reports.<\/p>\n
VAT Calculations, Reconciliation and Submission to SARS:<\/p>\n
\tPrepare and submit VAT returns to SARS within stipulated deadlines.
\n\tEnsure compliance with SARS regulations on VAT returns.<\/p>\n
Revenue Management:<\/p>\n
\tPerform AR analysis reviews by collaborating with the Debtors and Cashbook Clerk to reconcile accounts receivable on a periodic (at least bimonthly) basis.
\n\tOversee invoices created by the Debtors and Cashbook Clerk according to company practices and ensures that monthly statements are sent to beneficiaries.
\n\tPerform and review timely monthly GL account reconciliations. This includes reconciling revenue accounts and reviewing bank reconciliations performed by the Debtors and Cashbook Clerk.<\/p>\n
Payroll Reconciliation:<\/p>\n
\tSupporting systems automation and process optimization within the Finance Department.
\n\tDrive compliance in all finance-related matters and ensure compliance with Organisational, Intercompany and local policies, statutory requirements.
\n\tEstablishing and maintaining internal controls to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial information, safeguarding assets, and preventing fraud.
\n\tOther projects as assigned by the Finance Manager.<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/p>\n
Qualifications and Experience:\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tBachelor\u2019s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is essential.
\n\tMinimum 5 years of accounting experience.
\n\tExperience with working in externally funded projects.
\n\tAbility to build and maintain relationships with diverse stakeholders.
\n\tAbility to work independently and as part of a team.<\/p>\n
Required Skills:<\/p>\n
\tProficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and a strong command of accounting packages, including Sage Intacct and Pastel.
\n\tAdvanced Excel skills required.
\n\tGood accounting and tax knowledge SARS E-filing.
\n\tJournal and reconciliation experience (non-negotiable).
\n\tExceptional attention to detail, effective communication skills, and strong administrative capabilities.<\/p>\n
