Job Description
\nCore Responsibilities and Duties:<\/p>\n
\tRepair, maintain and service lifts (passenger, goods, stair lifts) and escalators using hand and power tools, testing devices such as test lamps, ammeters and voltmeters.\u00a0
\n\tConnect electrical wiring to control panels and electric motors.\u00a0
\n\tMaintain\/adjust safety controls, counterweights, door mechanisms, and components such as valves, ratchets, seals and brake linings.\u00a0
\n\tCheck that safety regulations and building codes are met and complete service reports verifying condition of lift and conformance to standards.\u00a0
\n\tLocate malfunctions in brakes, motors, switches, and signal and control systems using test equipment.\u00a0
\n\tWilling to work planned overtime and after hours standby schedule.<\/p>\n
Qualifications<\/p>\n
\tGrade 12
\n\tTrade Tested as a Lift Technician\/Lift Mechanic
\n\tUniversity qualified Electrical and Mechanical training an advantage
\n\tElectrical Skills
\n\tMechanical Skills
\n\tKnowledge of Hydraulics
\n\tDriver’s License
\n\t2-5 years working experience working SPECIFICALLY on lifts and escalators<\/p>\n
