POSITION SUMMARY<\/p>\n
\tThe Commis Chef supports the kitchen team by preparing ingredients, maintaining cleanliness, and learning cooking techniques under the guidance of senior chefs. This role is ideal for individuals beginning their culinary careers and seeking to build foundational skills in a professional kitchen environment.<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
\tAssist in food preparation including chopping vegetables, preparing sauces, and basic cooking tasks
\n\tFollow recipes and instructions given by senior chefs
\n\tMaintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area
\n\tEnsure food items are stored and rotated properly
\n\tAssist in plating and garnishing dishes
\n\tFollow food safety and hygiene standards at all times
\n\tOperate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
\n\tWork as part of a team to ensure timely and quality food service
\n\tLearn and apply new cooking techniques and skills as directed<\/p>\n
Requirements:<\/p>\n
\tBasic knowledge of kitchen hygiene and food safety
\n\tCulinary training or relevant experience preferred but not always required
\n\tWillingness to learn and take direction
\n\tAbility to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
\n\tStrong team spirit and communication skills
\n\tFlexible and adaptable attitude
\n\tPhysical stamina to stand for long periods and perform kitchen tasks<\/p>\n
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION<\/p>\n
\tEducation: Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree.
\n\tRelated Work Experience: At least 1 year of related work experience.
\n\tSupervisory Experience: No supervisory experience.
\n\tLicense or Certification: None<\/p>\n
