The Role<\/p>\n
\tWe are recruiting an External Reporting Manager to join the Group Finance Team who will be responsible for Group level financial reporting and consolidation. \u00a0As a core member of the Finance team, the External Reporting Manager will report to the Group Financial Controller and work closely with finance managers and provide business partnering and support to other department heads to ensure that key objectives are met. This position would be expected to work closely with external auditors to close audits in a timely manner.
\n\tWe are seeking candidates with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a multi-currency, hands-on group reporting\/consolidation role and managing a team. The successful candidate must be passionate about consolidations and systems, possess agility and resilience, the ability to transfer knowledge to a multinational team, exceptional communication skills, high EQ, strong organization skills, and be comfortable working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment etc. Success in this role will require someone who is a hands-on, open-minded self-starter that is able to apply technical knowledge and solutions to a dynamic, multi-ERP environment.\u00a0
\n\tThe role will be located in Johannesburg, South Africa. While the role is hybrid, the minimum expectation is four days per week in the office during probation (typically 3 months), decreasing to three days per week thereafter.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Duties and Responsibilities:\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tLead and coordinate preparation of external audits and reporting. Preparation of annual financial statements and quarterly consolidated reports to the Board and external stakeholders
\n\tResponsible for the group consolidation and preparation of group management accounts
\n\tEnsure integrity and consistency of data underlying reporting
\n\tDesign and implementation of processes and key controls
\n\tResponsible for all technical accounting in the group and preparation\/review of technical memos
\n\tLead in the interpretation of IFRS and development of Group Accounting policies
\n\tAssist with the integration of newly acquired companies
\n\tDrive efficiency\/automation of reporting and timeliness\/availability of reports
\n\tImprove\/develop reports that will be useful for the business in driving informed decision making
\n\tFinancial reporting to shareholders, directors, regulators and any other authorized parties on an appropriate and regular basis.
\n\tDirect management of accounting staff
\n\tOther ad-hoc projects and\/or support as needed by Financial Controller\/CFO
\n\tGenerally, uphold the values of the Company<\/p>\n
\u00a0The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tCA(SA)with minimum 5 years post qualification experience
\n\tExtensive IFRS accounting experience
\n\tDemonstrated experience managing or providing audit support
\n\tExperience in External Reporting
\n\tDemonstrated leadership skills in a fast-moving and complex environment\u00a0
\n\tDemonstrated experience in Inter-company reporting and consolidation
\n\tManagement experience
\n\tExperience working in emerging markets and in multi-currency environments.
\n\tExperience in implementing process improvement
\n\tAdvanced Excel skills
\n\tProficiency in Netsuite and Datarails is highly desirable
\n\tExperience working in fin\/tech advantageous
\n\tUK financial reporting experience would be beneficial<\/p>\n
