\tBDO Business Services Outsourcing Services has vacancies for an Intermediate Accountant who will help in maintaining\/managing portfolios of monthly and annual accounting clients.<\/p>\n
Competencies:<\/p>\n
Perform the following annual engagements:<\/p>\n
\tAnnual write-up of accounting records utilising the firms preferred software tool, i.e. Xero, SAGE Online, Pastel Partner
\n\tCompilation Engagements in terms of ISRS 4410
\n\tIndependent Review Engagements in terms of ISRE 2400
\n\tAccounting Officer Engagements in terms of Close Corporations Act
\n\tEnsuring that proper planning is performed before execution
\n\tEnsuring BDO SOP\u2019s are followed at all times
\n\tProposing journals to client (via Senior \/ Manager)
\n\tCommunicating with clients and making engagement arrangements, discuss engagement results
\n\tDrafting AFS per IFRS and IFRS for SMEs
\n\tPerforming tax computations for companies, close corporations and trusts (including SBC\u2019s, special allowances (s12C, s12E, etc)
\n\tMonthly accounting – processing accounting transactions and reconciliations to Balance
\n\tSheet, preparation of management accounts and calculation and reconciling of VAT and PAYE
\n\tManaging own WIP and budgets on engagements
\n\tUpdating Manager and Partner on progress of engagements
\n\tMentoring junior staff both on the job and generally
\n\tAssist other staff members where needed
\n\tOutsourced projects when needed
\n\tOther duties as may be required in line with the position<\/p>\n
Requirements:<\/p>\n
\tB.Com Financial Accounting
\n\tAbility to work in a team and independently
\n\tGood communication skills, internal and external, both written and verbal
\n\tWorking knowledge of most commonly used accounting packages (for reporting purposes and ad hoc processing)
\n\tDetailed knowledge of Caseware Working paper<\/p>\n
