and monitor the execution of the Technology strategy in alignment with the Corporate Strategy and Corporate Plan<br \/>\n\tMonitor the effective execution and implementation of the Technology Strategy.<br \/>\n\tProvide strategic direction to the Technology General Management Team to provide a cost effective, reliable and sustainable technology services to internal customers.<br \/>\n\tReview Technology Operating Model in line with broader organisational business objectives.<br \/>\n\tRepositioning of the Technology Division as a preferred Technology House.<br \/>\n\tProvide technological and digital strategic advice to the SABC\u2019s Executives on Technology and Distribution issues.<br \/>\n\tEnsure the growth of SABC Plus (SABC+) as the corporation\u2019s flagship platform and offering.<br \/>\n\tEnsure the strategy is cascaded to Group Executive and the Board of Directors<\/p>\n<p>DIGITAL TRANSFORMATION &amp; INNOVATION<\/p>\n<p>\tOversee and align the digital evolution of broadcasting technology platforms and capabilities to support modern broadcasting.<br \/>\n\tAppropriate and reliable technological infrastructure enabling commercial and revenue generation<br \/>\n\tEnsure mitigation of the final Analogue Switch-Off is responsible implemented.<br \/>\n\tWork with other teams and Divisions to ensure successful implementation of an SABC owned Satellite platform (DTH)<br \/>\n\tEnsure SABC+ growth and monetisation models are developed and implemented<br \/>\n\tEnsure Digital automation &amp; transformation to increase efficiency \/ responsiveness, intelligent decision making &amp; content configuration<br \/>\n\tEnsure Digitisation of the SABC\u2019s legacy (archive) targeted content for monetization<br \/>\n\tOversee the implementation and on-boarding of most digital initiatives within the Corporation<br \/>\n\tLead the SABC in this new era of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Machine Learning<\/p>\n<p>OPERATIONAL EFFICIENCY<\/p>\n<p>\tDevelop a strategy to effectively market the Technology Services, Facilities and Studios, in order to ensure optimal exposure and visibility to potential clients.<br \/>\n\tOptimal integration of departmental functions and strategies, in order to achieve objectives.<br \/>\n\tEnsure operational performance exceeds service level targets and KPI\u2019s.<\/p>\n<p>\tDevelop and implement business processes and practices in line with Operating model and broadcast best practice.<br \/>\n\tDirect development and execution of an enterprise-wide disaster recovery and business continuity plan.<br \/>\n\tBi-annual review of actual against planned objectives and introduction of corrective measures.<br \/>\n\tSuccessful project completion as per project timelines, scope and budget and appropriately address controllable non-performance.<br \/>\n\tEnsure that all users are aware of the organisation\u2019s Information Technology security policies.<\/p>\n<p>FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT<\/p>\n<p>\tOversee and manage the Long-Term Capex Expenditure Budget for the organisation.<br \/>\n\tOversee Divisional operational expenditure against approved budget and introduce corrective measures to ensure financial discipline and accountability.<br \/>\n\tSet guidelines on optimal fund distribution\/ allocation in accordance with the organisational budget constraints and strategic\/ operational requirements.<br \/>\n\tHigh-level review of all projects\u2019 financial performance to evaluate progress.<br \/>\n\tManage assets in accordance with organisational Asset Management Policy.<\/p>\n<p>GOVERNANCE, RISK AND COMPLIANCE<\/p>\n<p>\tEnsure adherence to policies, organisational imperatives, legislative and any other regulatory prescripts<br \/>\n\tEnsure resolution of all internal and external audit findings are resolved and addresses the identified gaps<br \/>\n\tEnsure that all Technology policies are aligned to digital transformation imperatives, legislative, and regulatory prescripts.<br \/>\n\tEnsure that the above is adhered to by Board, Executive Leadership, management, and employees.<br \/>\n\tImplement internal control measures to ensure good governance and compliance with SABC policies and procedures.<br \/>\n\tEnsure that the Strategic, Operational, and Project Risks are optimized and aligned to the SABC Risk Management Framework<br \/>\n\tReview and ensure the implementation of Risk Management Plan in line with organizational Risk Management Framework<br \/>\n\tProactive identification and communication of potential risks in accordance with SABC policies and Procedures<br \/>\n\tConvene and chair Divisional Risk Management Committee meeting to ensure compliance in line with framework.<\/p>\n<p>\u00a0PARTNERSHIPS AND STAKEHOLDER MANAGEMENT<\/p>\n<p>\tBuild and maintain supplier\u2019s relationships and manage the procurement of technology equipment.<br \/>\n\tManage the service level agreements SLAs.<br \/>\n\tCommunicate effectively with internal clients to identify needs and evaluate alternative business solutions.<br \/>\n\tEffective stakeholder relationships and good cross-functional communication between production teams, clients and management.<\/p>\n<p>LEADERSHIP AND PEOPLE MANAGEMENT<\/p>\n<p>\tEnsure compliance with all Human Resource Management requirements in accordance with annual calendar of people \/ talent management practices as well as sound employee lifecycle requirements (performance management, career development, succession planning, competency development, and talent retention.)<br \/>\n\tEffective implementation and tracking of Performance Management System in accordance with organizational policy and procedures.<br \/>\n\tEnsure development and execution of Personal Development Plans (PDP) for all staff members within the Technology Division.<br \/>\n\tEnsure detailed workforce management planning to ensure optimal utilisation of all staff within the Technology Division.<br \/>\n\tCreating pipeline of talent: influencing attraction and retention of right skills at right times within Technology to ensure that they are fit for purpose for today and tomorrow\u2019s world of work.<br \/>\n\tMentoring, coaching and facilitating key talent within Technology.<br \/>\n\tImplementing appropriate models for rewards and recognition of staff, where necessary.<br \/>\n\tDevelop and implement effective succession planning to ensure the strength of the bench continues to be strong\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>INHERENT REQUIREMENTS\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>FORMAL QUALIFICATIONS<\/p>\n<p>\tRelevant\u00a0Post Graduate Technology qualification\u00a0(NQF 8) in Broadcasting Systems, or Information Systems, or Information Communication Leadership, or equivalent qualifications<br \/>\n\tRelevant Post Graduate business or leadership qualification, with MBA an added advantage<\/p>\n<p>EXPERIENCE<\/p>\n<p>\t10 or more years in Broadcasting experience in General Management.<br \/>\n\t5 or more years should have been at Group Executive level, preferably in the Broadcasting industry.<br \/>\n\t10 Years\u2019
