KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS:<\/p>\n
\tAssist Head\/Divisional manager to maintain and expand on project work from the mining\/ metallurgical industry and\u00a0related research agencies, in line with Division\u2019s current business plans, by providing competence and professional\u00a0expertise, and interacting with clients, collaborators and potential partners.
\n\tAscertain needs of clients and the industry and propose appropriate project work, both research and commercial\u00a0oriented.
\n\tLead and execute projects in which interactions with technical expertise and stakeholders (internal and external) are\u00a0required at an advanced level. This will involve algorithm\/software development to extract appropriate information,\u00a0and modelling, simulation and interpretation of mineral behaviour in processing and other environments using,\u00a0primarily, mineralogical inputs
\n\tExecute projects so as to meet the time scheduling agreed to with client\/stakeholder, contain costs for the Division\u00a0and deliver valid conclusions with technical efficiency and professionalism.
\n\tComply with the internal administration requirements of Mintek and MNL with respect to labour and machine time\u00a0capture, business governance, professional reporting, project planning and management.
\n\tDevelop protocols\/workflows for optimal operation and performance of specialised imaging equipment
\n\tEnsure that QES procedures are followed and project work is executed to produce valid conclusions and with\u00a0maximum overall efficiency – technically and financially.
\n\tEnsure that the documentation of work and procedures is appropriately captured and produce advanced professional\u00a0level reports, publications, conference contributions<\/p>\n
JOB KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE:<\/p>\n
\t3- 5 years or more experience in the field of data and image (2D\/3D) analysis applications using\u00a0commercial\/open source platforms (e.g. Matlab, Python, R, Image J, VG StudioMax, Aviso, etc.).
\n\tCoding and\/or modelling experience, preferably with mineralogical\/metallurgical\/chemical data\u00a0
\n\tProject management skills
\n\tDrafting proposals to generate funding for project work
\n\tClient relationship management
\n\tThe incumbent must be highly organised, able to multi-task and pay attention to detail, with excellent\u00a0verbal and written communication skill.<\/p>\n
