\tFaircape Health provides the full continuum of care at six world-class healthcare facilities located on-site at six luxury, retirement villages.
\n\tWe require the services of an Activity Assistant on day shift at our facility Noordhoek Manor, Noordhoek.
\n\t(Preference will be given to candidates residing within the Fish Hoek area close to the facility)
\n\tThe successful incumbents will present group and individual activities as prescribed and instructed by the Occupational Therapist.

Duties include but is not limited to the following:<\/p>\n
Direct Intervention<\/p>\n
\tImplement group or individual activities with residents as set out in a weekly programme under the direction of the Occupational Therapist.
\n\tInvite and encourage residents to attend the activities.
\n\tSpend time with residents to learn about their hobbies, interests and personal history.<\/p>\n
Indirect Intervention<\/p>\n
\tKeep up to date records of the following – attendance of individual and group activities, records of changes (improvement or decline) in residents.
\n\tAttend and contribute to MDT meetings.<\/p>\n
Support<\/p>\n
\tPerform new resident welcome tasks according to procedure<\/p>\n
Operational<\/p>\n
\tKeep activity stock in order and inform Occupational Therapist timeously of activity stock that needs to be purchased prior to planned activities.
\n\tComplete weekly report and conduct activity research
\n\tCommunicate with manager\/Occupational Therapist when more pressing matters arise that need addressing
\n\tAttend to emails
\n\tMonitor wheelchair & assistive devices<\/p>\n

\tCarer training<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/p>\n
Education and Qualifications:<\/p>\n
\tMatric advantageous
\n\tRecognised care worker training course advantageous but not required
\n\tIntroduction to Dementia training advantageous but not required
\n\tOther post – Matric training or qualification advantageous such as coaching, teaching or educare short course
\n\tBackground in social sciences is advantageous<\/p>\n
Experience<\/p>\n
\tExperience with geriatrics is advantageous<\/p>\n

Working Hours: Mondays to Friday from 08h00 to 17h00, including 2 Saturdays per month from 08h00 to 11h30.<\/p>\n
