Qualifications<\/p>\n
\tGrade 12
\n\tDiploma or equivalent in Logistics or Warehousing<\/p>\n
Experience<\/p>\n
\t3 – 5 Years experience in similar position
\n\tExperience of managing teams within tight quality and efficiency parameters
\n\tProficient in the use of Microsoft Office packages and in particular, Excel and Office
\n\tExperience in Quality Systems\u00a0
\n\tExperience in training\/developing staff\u00a0
\n\tExperience in employee relations\u00a0
\n\tExperience in performance management systems and methods<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n
\tEnsure all client containers are received, stored, picked and dispatched accurately and timeously as per agreed KPIs
\n\tEnsure the client Container Yard is managed professionally in line with all BIL Safety, Quality, and profitability standards
\n\tEnsure the client Container Yard staff receive all regulatory and developing training
\n\tEnsure the Fleet are Managed affeciantly and adhere to all SHERQ requirments
\n\tReporting to the FM and the customer<\/p>\n
Planning\/Co-Ordination:<\/p>\n
\tPlan and co-ordinate, in conjunction with relevant Supervisors as required, the timely execution of daily activities
\n\tMeeting customer requirements and expectations and to achieve CNY objectives and KPI’s
\n\tPlan meetings according to FMs diary
\n\tProvide cover for other teams \/ other Supervisors during periods of absence, holiday, etc.<\/p>\n
Quality:<\/p>\n
\tBe responsible for ensuring that the quality of the product and service within your area is maintained at the highest possible standards for the customer including 5S standards
\n\tEnsure ISO 9001 controls and procedures are strictly adhered to.
\n\tMeet weekly departmental\/team quality targets.
\n\tCarry out random quality inspections and ensure full checks are made on all remakes\/ repairs\/ special orders, etc.
\n\tWork closely with the SHERQ department to identify recurring quality problems, agree, initiate and monitor relevant corrective action.<\/p>\n
Health and Safety:<\/p>\n
\tImplement the company\u2019s Health and Safety Policy, ensuring safe working conditions and practices within your area of responsibility (e.g. manual handling, use of PPE, safe use of machinery and equipment, stacking & storage, etc.).
\n\tCarry out health & safety audits and inspections as required. Record & report findings and take, or follow-up on, relevant corrective action.
\n\tEnsure that a high standard of general housekeeping is maintained on a \u2018clean as you go basis\u2019.
\n\tEnsure that full pre-use & shut down checks are carried out by users of machinery \/ equipment
\n\tEnsure compliance with applicable laws and company policies.<\/p>\n
Fleet Management<\/p>\n
\tManagement & maintenance of all equipment in the CNY\u00a0
\n\tEnsure the keeping of a logbook for all vehicles under supervision.\u00a0
\n\tEnsure daily checks of Material Handling Equipment and reporting thereof.
\n\tPerform regular audits on fleet.<\/p>\n
Customer & Supplier Liaison<\/p>\n
\tAct as liaison with other departments including Senior Level Management and other facilities as well as Customer and Suppliers.
\n\tCustomer liaison into resolving queries.
\n\tLiaison with Intermodal Service Provider, Warehouses and Production control
\n\tCorrective action to be implemented and managed for activities outside agreed parameters.<\/p>\n
People Management<\/p>\n
\tConduct Performance Appraisals as per HR requirements.
\n\tManage absenteeism and ensure BIL code of conduct are understood and not transgressed by
\n\tEstablish KPA’s for subordinates and manage accordingly.\u00a0
\n\tGeneral well being of personnel, including discipline.<\/p>\n
Reporting<\/p>\n
\tEnsuring that all Reports, Registers, Sheets and Systems are up to date and correct
\n\tEsuring that Reports are completed and sent out in accordance with the client agreement
\n\tEnsuring Accuracy of information send to customer and management
\n\tCompliance of monthly management reports (STATS)
\n\tAdherence and maintaining of Operational Excellence
\n\tDaily reporting to management of all KPI’s, service failures and\/or customer complaints when applicable.
