{"id":12924,"date":"2025-07-03T10:02:37","date_gmt":"2025-07-03T10:02:37","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/southafrica\/job\/sales-manager-eu-uk\/"},"modified":"2025-10-04T00:24:42","modified_gmt":"2025-10-04T00:24:42","slug":"sales-manager-eu-uk","status":"expired","type":"job_listing","link":"https:\/\/jobs.dataaxisnode.com\/southafrica\/?post_type=job_listing&p=12924","title":{"rendered":"Sales Manager &#8211; EU\/UK"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Detailed Responsibilities:<\/p>\n<p>Grow the International Tour Operator business in the EU\/UK region and EU 2nd\u00a0tier market<\/p>\n<p>\tTo pro-actively develop new clients over and above the existing tour operator client base.<br \/>\n\tTo service existing client base and to grow this business.<br \/>\n\tTo keep tour operators updated with our latest information, special offers, etc.<br \/>\n\tMonitoring Occupancies to grow the business during the green and shoulder seasons.<br \/>\n\tAssist in overall sales strategy for the group, with consequent implementation.<br \/>\n\tIdentify trends &amp; opportunities in the market place.<br \/>\n\tAttend local, regional and International Trade Shows as and when required as part of the market strategy<br \/>\n\tTo liaise with other Marketing staff to ensure trade shows are organised in a systematic, timeous manner, to engage as to what is required for these shows and the deadlines thereof.<br \/>\n\tDistribution of brochures, rates and any special offers while on sales calls or participating in trade shows.<br \/>\n\tFollowing up with all administration and sales, e.g. by providing detailed sales reports.<\/p>\n<p>Assist with growing the Travel Agents and tour operators product knowledge &amp; facilitating the booking process.<\/p>\n<p>\tTo do presentations on the WS product when visiting tour operators and travel agents in their offices.<br \/>\n\tTo liaise with Sales \/ Reservations on any issues relating to the agents and on certain areas of growing the business.<\/p>\n<p>Prepare marketing strategies for WS specific for the specified market<\/p>\n<p>\tTo write strategy documents &amp; actions plans on growing the business.<br \/>\n\tTo prepare marketing budgets for the specific market<br \/>\n\tKey liaison to international based reps in the market<\/p>\n<p>Administration<\/p>\n<p>\tLiaising with the Head of Sales \/ South African MD \/ Head of Reservations \/ Trade &amp; Media \/ other sales managers to share best practices, market updates and agent information.<br \/>\n\tAssisting in the collection of Tour Operator data and being able to update internal records accordingly (Arm on WW)<br \/>\n\tCo-ordinate the Customer Relations Management system \/ programme once implemented<br \/>\n\tPreparing the relevant Tour Operator Sales Figures as required for External Sales Reports<br \/>\n\tPreparing Power Point presentations for agent presentations<br \/>\n\tSales meeting feedback in accordance with the sales meetings\/updates.<br \/>\n\tPreparation of sales reports on return from international trips \u2013 feedback to the reservation teams<\/p>\n<p>Generate brand awareness and sales thru media and familiarisation trips<\/p>\n<p>\tTo follow up on agents\u2019 travel and media bookings for feedback and comments with Marketing Services and CRT and to internal sales.<br \/>\n\tDedicated assistance for images and information to relevant agents as received directly<br \/>\n\tLead\/host key educational trips throughout the regions working with the respective OPS teams to ensure maximum service and engagement to the agents whilst travelling<\/p>\n<p>Meet business units sales, GP% and cost forecast<\/p>\n<p>\tBuild sound relationships with customers and agents and participate in company CRM systems to record and manage customers\u2019 relationships.<br \/>\n\tLiaise with customers, Wilderness operating companies, Wilderness staff in regions and Partner Product suppliers on an ongoing basis.<br \/>\n\tReview product analysis and drive sales.<br \/>\n\tReview and manage yield on own and Partner Product.<\/p>\n<p>Planning and budgetary control<\/p>\n<p>\tPrepare a quarterly forecast on parameters set. This is to be done with the Head of Sales and market reservation manager\u2019s participation and must be subject to ongoing review.<br \/>\n\tMeasure sales &amp; GP results against the budget and obtain explanations for any variances from budget.<br \/>\n\tReview reports.<br \/>\n\tReview unit report including cost per desk and headcount information.<br \/>\n\tWill be responsible for setting educational rates and ensure group procedure is followed.<\/p>\n<p>Implement strategy of using scale to the benefit of our agents \u2013 combined systems development, Wilderness Window\/itrvl usage, business methodology<\/p>\n<p>\tUnderstand the internal systems to assist agents growing their support for us\/with us.<br \/>\n\tObtain a better understanding of their business and where we can improve their business by adding further value.<br \/>\n\tStrategize on how this can be implemented within the parameters of our systems.<br \/>\n\tImplement and control.<\/p>\n<p>Business development \u2013 own product<\/p>\n<p>\tLiaise with agents \u2013 build relationships proactively to better understand their business and how we can develop together.<br \/>\n\tMaintain correspondence with agents.<br \/>\n\tSolve problems &amp; customer complaints expediently working with the Customer Care team\/Travel Analysts, the consultant and respective reservation manager accordingly.\u00a0<br \/>\n\tItinerary \/ Programme building, offering suggestions to consultants<br \/>\n\tNew product awareness<\/p>\n<p>Business Development \u2013 Associated Product<\/p>\n<p>\tWith reference to our Associated Product strategy, analyse the agents AP base.<br \/>\n\tFormulate AP strategies in going forward, working with the respective reservations manager and AP team.<br \/>\n\tAssociated Product to share info on price structure\/flexibility\/negotiations.<br \/>\n\tBeing able to leverage off the AP team to further develop and grow the respective agents AP buying, hence increase our DMC offering<\/p>\n<p>Contribute to strategic business planning<\/p>\n<p>\tContributing towards the market strategy to develop &amp; grow our agents from a sales and relationship point of view.<br \/>\n\tContributing to Product development from grassroots to mature product including:<br \/>\n\tCommunicate new product development with staff.<br \/>\n\tContributing towards newsletter articles with ideas.<br \/>\n\tContributing at strategic, review and other meetings.<br \/>\n\tBringing new ideas and concepts to team\u2019s attention.<br \/>\n\tReading and staying abreast of industry development.<br \/>\n\tPromoting the development of the Wilderness brand through product offering and service delivery.<\/p>\n<p>Candidate Profile:<br \/>\nQualification\/Experience<\/p>\n<p>\tMatric with Mathematics<br \/>\n\tTertiary qualification in Marketing, specific reference to Travel &amp; Tourism (an advantage)<br \/>\n\t3- 5 years in similar position from a sales or service-related industry environment.<br \/>\n\tPrevious management\/development of a Brand will be an advantage.<br \/>\n\tAccountability for financial results<br \/>\n\tExperience in handling trade relationships<br \/>\n\tExperience in assessing international source markets<br \/>\n\tComputer Literacy (Microsoft Office with Advanced Excel)<br \/>\n\tWorking knowledge of TourPlan, Wilderness Window operation system will be an advantage<\/p>\n<p>Apply via company website ( N \/ A ) or<\/p>\n<p>wilderness.simplify.hr<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"author":2,"featured_media":0,"template":"","meta":{"_promoted":"","_job_location":"","_application":"http:\/\/wilderness.simplify.hr","_company_name":"Wilderness","_company_website":"http:\/\/N%20\/%20A","_company_tagline":"We love what we do.
