KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS<\/p>\n
Estimation Development<\/p>\n
\tProduce estimates and pricing schedules for tender submissions cross-referenced with ERP System (IFF), WBS and Activity Schedules
\n\tPlan and manage estimating tasks and associated activities in compliance with company procedures
\n\tReview commercial requirements, scope of work, site information, and study reports from Client Tender documents
\n\tPrepare bills of material from Material Take-Off (MTO) for market pricing
\n\tCoordinate and assess discipline engineering, procurement, and planning inputs during estimate development
\n\tPerform project cost forecasts, cash flows, and escalation calculations using industry indices
\n\tPerform cost analysis and risk assessments to identify potential financial issues.
\n\tProvide post-tender commercial analysis and participate in clarification processes<\/p>\n
Technical Coordination<\/p>\n
\tReview technical drawings, site layouts, PFDs, P&IDs and verify engineering information
\n\tGenerate equipment lists, MTOs, BOQs, and schedules of quantities from engineering drawings
\n\tDevelop high-level Work Breakdown Structures and preliminary project schedules
\n\tLiaise with design engineers to ensure scope is correctly identified and measurable in cost models
\n\tEvaluate construction methodology for estimation of field requirements and labour.
\n\tEvaluate engineering effort and market quotations against project schedules
\n\tCoordinate with project managers and planners to align cost models with WBS structures<\/p>\n
Procurement Support<\/p>\n
\tCollaborate with procurement teams to obtain marketplace cost information
\n\tParticipate in RFQ commercial adjudication processes
\n\tProvide guidance on construction contract selection (JBCC, FIDIC, NEC, GCC)
\n\tReview and adjudicate subcontractor and vendor pricing using first principle estimating<\/p>\n
Database Management & Stakeholder Engagement<\/p>\n
\tDevelop and maintain comprehensive rate databases and cost benchmarking systems
\n\tEngage regularly with all stakeholders throughout the estimating process
\n\tSupport cost engineers and quantity surveyors as required
\n\tAttend post-tender review meetings and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives<\/p>\n
QUALIFICATION<\/p>\n
Essential:<\/p>\n
\tBSc in Quantity Surveying or an advanced Diploma in Quantity Surveying registered with SACQSP
\n\tCertified Cost Engineer (CCE) or Certified Estimating Professional (CEP) qualification
\n\t5-10 years post-qualification MEIP (Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Piping) experience<\/p>\n
Preferred:<\/p>\n
\tCCS Candy Certification or demonstrable proficiency
\n\tProfessional certification in relevant engineering or construction management discipline\u00a0<\/p>\n
EXPERIENCE<\/p>\n
Required:<\/p>\n
\t3-10 years of MEIP experience in cost estimating within industrial\/construction environments
\n\tDemonstrated proficiency with MS Office Suite, particularly Excel
\n\tExperience with project planning software (CCS Planning, MS Project, or Primavera P6)
\n\tProven track record in tender preparation and cost estimation accuracy<\/p>\n
Advantageous:<\/p>\n
\tIndustrial engineering experience
\n\tWorking knowledge of various construction contract suites
\n\tExperience in EPC\/EPCm project environments
\n\tPrevious exposure to risk assessment and commercial adjudication processes<\/p>\n
