This role will support the Lead Accountant \u2013 IB\u2019s to ensure the following:-<\/p>\n
\tLubricants financial information for South Africa, Most of Africa and Supply Chain is fully prepared, analysed and understood in an accurate and timely manner in compliance with relevant accounting and Group standards
\n\tAll Balance Sheet reconciliations are performed to the required Group standard (reconciled, validated, verified)

Key Accountabilities<\/p>\n
\tTo complete Lubricants month end close activities in an accurate and timely manner
\n\tAssist in the preparation of accurate monthly financials for Lubricants business (Balance Sheet, Income Statement), including analysis, which explains business unit performance in a clear and timely manner<\/p>\n
Calculation and Processing of Monthly Journals such as:<\/p>\n
\tBlendcor Joint Venture (proforma invoices; Closing Stock)
\n\tRoyalties calculation
\n\tReclassification of group sales & debtors
\n\tRose Levy (alignment, accrual & payment)
\n\tPayroll, Pension & Medical Aid re-allocation
\n\tDifference in Exchange rate restatements (debtors & sales)
\n\tBad debts provision
\n\tBP Supply Purchases and Group Creditor accrual
\n\tDepreciation alignment
\n\tRe-allocation of Supply Chain costs from Operating Unit (creditors, VAT, payroll)
\n\tAdditional Information (sales volume, depot volumes) for financial statement reporting and disclosure<\/p>\n
Perform Balance sheet reconciliations such as:<\/p>\n
\tBlendcor Joint Venture (Current Account Recon; Proforma Billing Consolidation & Stock Losses)
\n\tJDE\/ISP interface account reconciliation
\n\tRegular review and reconciliation of stock accruals
\n\tVarious Balance Sheet accruals & provisions
\n\tCalculation and processing of Recovery Journals such as
\n\tBlendcor Recoveries
\n\tWeekly Recoveries for Blendcor weekly product despatches
\n\tCo-ordination of the Quarterly Balance Sheet Integrity process
\n\tTo support the Team Lead in the standardisation, automation and improvement of processes and reporting systems across the business.<\/p>\n
Qualifications, Experience and Competencies<\/p>\n
Essential Education<\/p>\n
\tB.Com (Accounting or Finance) degree or equivalent is essential
\n\tExperience working on JDE will be an advantage.<\/p>\n
Essential Experience<\/p>\n
\t3-4 years experience in an Accounting\/Auditing environment, preferably in the oil industry
\n\tMust be a highly motivated and a high performing individual
\n\tStrong analytical skills
\n\tMust be able to present a structured, methodical approach to problem solving
\n\tTrack record of supporting Continuous Improvement in a current or prior business\/professional roles
\n\tAdvanced knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
