Core Description<\/p>\n
\tInstall, manage, troubleshoot, and optimise SAN and storage in an enterprise environment where 90% of the landscape is virtualised using VMWare.<\/p>\n
Key Deliverables \/ Primary Functions<\/p>\n
\tInstall and configure Storage devices and Storage Area Networks according to best practise guidelines.
\n\tPlan and implement firmware upgrades and address vulnerabilities of all storage devices and SAN infrastructure.
\n\tZone initiators and targets and conduct regular zone and alias maintenance in line with best practises.
\n\tPerform disaster recovery using storage functions and features like replication, snapshots, and clones.
\n\tCompile documentation and keep detailed baselines current and relevant to the environment.
\n\tMonitor and configure dashboards for both proactive and reactive response approaches.
\n\tAutomate daily storage and SAN tasks to optimise and improve our services.
\n\tAnalyse storage data for proactive trending and troubleshooting, to improve availability and stability of the services we deliver.<\/p>\n

Minimum Qualifications<\/p>\n
\tNQF 6: 3 year Degree\/ Diploma\/ National Diploma in Information Technology or Computer Science

Experience<\/p>\n
\t3 years\u2019 experience within a storage environment within the ICT sector.
\n\tExperience of storage functions (e.g. replication) and features (e.g. deduplication) with real-world experience in various applications and operating systems and protocols.
\n\t5 years\u2019 experience within a storage environment within the ICT sector.
