\tOur client, a market leader in the manufacturing sector, is seeking to appoint a Management Accountant – Costing based in the Upper Highway area, KwaZulu Natal
\n\tThe primary purpose of this role is to deliver accurate financial and operational data to support informed decision-making and protect profit margins.
\n\tResponsibilities include analysing internal and external data, translating data into meaningful insights, and providing project management support for the implementation of systems, bill of materials (BOM) costing, and production floor improvements<\/p>\n
Duties and Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
\tOversee and maintain the costing function, including accurate BOMs, recipe changes, and raw material availability.
\n\tAnalyze and report on BOM adherence, cost of sales impacts, and identify opportunities to reduce substitution costs.
\n\tInvestigate WIP variances and provide operational floor support to ensure recipe and BOM accuracy.
\n\tConduct physical floor-to-recipe testing and verify BOM costings on an ongoing basis.
\n\tDrive process improvements to enhance kit issue accuracy and BOM adherence.
\n\tCompile and review daily margin analyses, monitor pricing stability, and provide exception reporting to Sales and Production.
\n\tManage customer growth incentive calculations and monthly provisions.
\n\tSupport management accounting projects across scoping, testing, implementation, and post-project reviews.
\n\tMaintain labor and overhead costings in Syspro, monitoring variances and identifying efficiency opportunities.
\n\tSupport and implement improved allocation models for labor and overhead costs.
\n\tProvide backup for raw material price reviews and uploads as required.
\n\tInvestigate and report on purchase price variances and standard cost adjustments to drive cost savings.
\n\tMonitor and recommend changes to standard costs where necessary.
\n\tImplement and review internal controls, SOPs, and drive ongoing improvements.
\n\tTrack factory performance against KPIs and develop production efficiency metrics.
\n\tOversee internal stock movements and support stock control measures impacting COS.
\n\tSupport month-end stock takes and assist with stock and WIP variance analyses.
\n\tIdentify and drive cost-saving initiatives and process improvements.
\n\tPerform ad hoc reporting and analysis as needed.<\/p>\n
Minimum Requirements:<\/p>\n
Education and Experience:<\/p>\n
\tCIMA \/ BCom \/ BTech or relevant qualification
\n\tMinimum 5 years’ experience in a similar role within a large manufacturing plant \/ FMCG sector
\n\tStock control experience
\n\tSyspro Knowledge<\/p>\n
Knowledge and Skills:<\/p>\n
\tOperationally focused and involved
\n\tAbility to work under pressurized circumstances and to meet deadlines
\n\tAbility to get involved in the process and be hands on in the operation
\n\tAble to multitask
