JOB DESCRIPTION<\/p>\n
\tSSA&IO Human Resources Manager will partner with our business leaders and HR leader for Sub-Sahara Africa & Indian Ocean to drive the HR agenda and procedures that enhance both team member and the guest experience.\u00a0
\n\tThis role will support the Property HR function for Team Members across SSA&IO Region, and you will be responsible for driving the talent agenda for the region, which includes scaling our teams and resources and aligning processes to meet the growth over the next several years. You will also play a key role in further developing the HR and leadership capabilities across our teams.<\/p>\n
What will I be doing?<\/p>\n
\tIn this HR role, you will have the opportunity both to lead the day-to-day HR for the South Africa Corporate office, as well as partner with our HR leader for Sub-Sahara Africa & Indian Ocean overseeing and managing the HR function for a group of approx. 16 hotels located in the region. You will work to ensure the implementation of effective HR strategies, practices, optimization, and simplifications, and provide guidance and support to ensure compliance with company policies and local employment laws. Your role will involve talent acquisition, employee relations, performance management and HR initiatives implementation.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities Sub-Sahara Africa & Indian Ocean:<\/p>\n
Talent Acquisition and Management:<\/p>\n
\tWork closely with Regional Senior HR Manager to identify Talent needs and develop effective recruitment and selection strategies for key roles
\n\tSupport with the onboarding process for General Managers & HR Leaders \u00a0 \u00a0\u00a0
\n\tDrive and implement retention strategies to attract and retain our talent
\n\tSupport hotel management teams in succession planning efforts<\/p>\n
Employee Relations:<\/p>\n
\tProvide guidance and support to hotel management teams on employee relations matters, including conflict resolution, complaints, and investigations.
\n\tPromote a positive and inclusive work environment that fosters employee engagement and satisfaction.<\/p>\n
Compliance and Legal Matters:<\/p>\n
\tStay updated on local labour laws and regulations and ensure communication across all hotels.
\n\tEnsure proper record-keeping and documentation and update TMX accordingly.<\/p>\n
Reporting and Analysis:<\/p>\n
\tPrepare regular HR reports and analysis for the regional leadership group, highlighting key metrics and trends.
\n\tMonitor HR data to identify areas for improvement and make data-driven recommendations.
\n\tSupport and manage HR Projects<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities South-Africa Corporate office:<\/p>\n
\tLead the day-to-day HR\u00a0

\n\tEnsure a great onboarding experience
\n\tManage cross-functional L&D efforts (identify needs, organize and deliver training efforts, lead career day yearly)
\n\tBe responsible for positive team member communications across the office
\n\tInitiate and implement engagement activities
\n\tTake the lead in working with other corporate offices in the region to execute TM activities
\n\tSupport grievances and performance management processes
\n\tCollaborate with the wider HR consulting group to align with global objectives and priorities
\n\tResponsible for local legal and contractual requirements related to the corporate office
\n\tThe position is office based (Johannesburg)<\/p>\n

\tWe are looking for an individual who puts the customer at the heart of how they operate. Someone who can walk in the shoes of our internal and external customers and develop and deliver a compelling vision for the Team Member Experience in each of our brands and corporate functions.
\n\tA demonstrable track record in an HR generalist or specialist discipline.
\n\tHave a positive and change-oriented attitude, able to translate strategy into actionable objectives and deliver efficiency and effectiveness improvements
\n\tA demonstrable ability to build relationships with key stakeholders and across functions to enable the delivery of HR and business plans
\n\tKnowledge and experience of project or process optimization and a continuous improvement mindset
\n\tGood commercial instincts are important, as well as the ability to engage with a wide variety of stakeholders to support the overall performance of the business
\n\tUnderstanding of best practice HR and exposure to key initiatives including Team Member Engagement, DE&I, Talent Management, Talent Acquisition and Reward
\n\tHave Hotel HR experience and knowledge of South African labor law\u00a0
\n\tEligibility to work in South Africa is required<\/p>\n
