Reporting to the Assistant Director of Finance the successful candidate will be required to Support the day-to-day execution of general ledger impacted processes, including support to clients as they work with and understand these processes. \u00a0Performs accounting functions specifically in the areas of daily transactions, account balancing, ledger reconciliation, reporting and discrepancy resolution.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Education and Experience<\/p>\n<p>\t4-year bachelor&#8217;s degree in Finance and Accounting or related major; no work experience required.<\/p>\n<p>OR<\/p>\n<p>\t2-year degree from an accredited university in Finance and Accounting or related major; 2 years\u2019 experience in finance and accounting or related professional area.<\/p>\n<p>Required Experience &amp; Qualifications<\/p>\n<p>\tProficient in Excel; experience in People Soft, Sage VIP, OPERA, MICROS &amp; MATERIALS CONTROL will be an advantage<br \/>\n\tGood communication and report writing ability.<br \/>\n\tBe able to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.<br \/>\n\tTo follow up on queries\/reconciling items and action where necessary.<br \/>\n\tThe ability to manage the Finance team and work without supervision.<br \/>\n\tGood leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.<br \/>\n\tExperience in IR management and disciplinary processes<br \/>\n\tEffective problem solving, decision making and conflict management skills\u00a0<br \/>\n\tAttention to detail pertaining to area of responsibility<br \/>\n\tFlexibility re working hours\u2019 \/Month end week end \/Overtime.<br \/>\n\tFlexibility to work over weekends, public holidays and after hours when required.<\/p>\n<p>Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n<p>CORE WORK ACTIVITIES<\/p>\n<p>Managing Work, Projects, and Policies\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\tCoordinates and implements accounting work and projects as assigned.<br \/>\n\tCoordinates, implements and follows up on Accounting SOP audits for all areas of the property.<br \/>\n\tComplies with Federal and State laws applying to fraud and collection procedures.<br \/>\n\tGenerates and provides accurate and timely results in the form of reports, presentations, etc.<br \/>\n\tAnalyzes information and evaluates results to choose the best solution and solve problems.<br \/>\n\tCompiles, codes, categorizes, calculates, tabulates, audits, or verifies information or data.<br \/>\n\tBalances credit card ledgers.<br \/>\n\tVerifies contracts for groups and performs credit reference checks for direct billed groups if necessary.<\/p>\n<p>Maintaining Finance and Accounting Goals<\/p>\n<p>\tAchieves and exceeds goals including performance goals, budget goals, team goals, etc.<br \/>\n\tDevelops specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, and accomplish your work.<br \/>\n\tSubmits reports in a timely manner, ensuring delivery deadlines.<br \/>\n\tEnsures profits and losses are documented accurately.<br \/>\n\tMonitors all taxes that apply, ensuring that taxes are current, collected and\/or accrued.<br \/>\n\tMaintains a strong accounting and operational control environment to safeguard assets.<br \/>\n\tCompletes period end function each period.<br \/>\n\tProvide direction and assistance to other organizational units regarding accounting and budgeting policies and procedures, and efficient control and utilization of financial resources.<\/p>\n<p>Leading Accounting Teams\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\tUtilizes interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence, and encourage others;
