Key responsibilities:<\/p>\n
\tEnsure valid, accurate and complete contract and project accounting for customer and supplier contracts and service level agreements including to review and ensure completeness of financial supporting documentation;
\n\tReview and\/ capture contract details amd\u00a0projects in terms of applicable accounting classification, project plans, performance obligations, cost centre allocations, budgets, including projects budgets integrated across clusters;
\n\tUpdate revenue recognition and\u00a0process invoices or credit notes;
\n\tRecord keeping of all contract and\u00a0project supporting documentation as per SARS and CSIR policies;
\n\tReview debtors age analysis, follow up on outstanding invoices and request payment from customers;
\n\tProcess ad-hoc invoices for services rendered or goods supplied in accordance with accepted quotations to account for revenue earned in compliance with CSIR policies, procedures and\u00a0financial legislation;
\n\tPerform monthly general ledger reconciliations;
\n\tReconcile advances, claims and cash with the petty cash float;
\n\tReview local and overseas employee reimbursement claims;
\n\tAssist the Management Accountant with accurate and timely budgeting and forecasting processes in terms of CSIR policies and procedures;
\n\tAssist the Management Accountant in the provision of project specific audit information and\u00a0internal audit request\/ reports and\u00a0annual \/ specific external audits;
\n\tRecord keeping of all financial transactions and\u00a0supporting documentation as per SARS and CSIR policies;
\n\tAssist the Management Accountant \/ Finance Manager with preparation of weekly \/ monthly financial reports;
\n\tCommunicate requirements and ensure adherence to relevant CSIR policy and\u00a0process in all areas of responsibility;
\n\tAssist with training and coaching of finance trainees and interns;
\n\tIdentify opportunities to improve business processes and to perform duties and\u00a0communicate these to the Management Accountant and\/ Finance Manager.<\/p>\n
Qualifications, skills and experience:<\/p>\n
\tB Com in accounting, finance management accounting and studying towards CIMA would be an added advantage with\u00a0three years\u2019 experience in finance, including a sound understanding of financial accounting, financial reconciliation and reporting;
\n\tWorking knowledge and understanding of an ERP system;
\n\tSound knowledge and understanding of how contract and project related transactions impact on organisational financial results;
\n\tGood working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite especially spreadsheets;
\n\tKnowledge of statutory requirements, legislation, policies and procedures typically relevant in area of responsibility.<\/p>\n
