Description<\/p>\n
\tThis internship is designed to give university students practical exposure to the world of risk advisory and assurance specifically in relation to the financial services sector.
\n\tThrough structured job shadowing, students will gain first-hand insights into how IT systems and internal processes are audited, how data risks are identified and mitigated, and how technology governance is assessed in real-world environments.<\/p>\n
Key Learning Areas:<\/p>\n
\tIntroduction to audit methodologies and risk-based approaches
\n\tUnderstanding IT general controls (ITGCs) and application controls
\n\tExposure to internal audit procedures and control testing
\n\tData risk assessment and basic data analytics concepts
\n\tHands-on experience with audit tools and working papers
\n\tObserving client engagement processes and team collaboration<\/p>\n
Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
As part of the internship, students will:<\/p>\n
\tShadow experienced professionals on live engagements
\n\tParticipate in training sessions and workshops
\n\tAssist with research, documentation, and basic execution
\n\tAttend team meetings and internal knowledge-sharing sessions
\n\tObserve and learn about audit planning, fieldwork, and reporting processes<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/p>\n
QUALIFICATIONS<\/p>\n
\tUniversity graduate or in their final year of study in: (BCom \/ BSc \/ BBSc) or post-graduate degree, specialising in any of the following relevant fields:
\n\tInformation Systems\/ Informatics
\n\tInformation Technology
\n\tActuarial Science
\n\tComputer\/Data Science\/Analytics
\n\tMathematical Sciences\/Statistics
\n\t(Applied\/Financial) Mathematics
\n\tQuantitative Risk Management
\n\t(Applied) Statistics; or
\n\tThe intention to pursue a professional qualification (CFA \/ FRM \/ PRM \/ FIA \/ FASSA) is advantageous.<\/p>\n
Additional skills that would be advantageous:<\/p>\n
\tComputer Literacy: Office 360 tools.
\n\tExperience in C#, Python, R, or SAS.
\n\tInternal audit.<\/p>\n
