Minimum Requirements<\/p>\n
\tExperience as a Laying Manager in a Broiler Breeder environment
\n\tExceptional people \/ team leadership skills\u00a0
\n\tA good understanding of modern farming methods, a commitment to animal welfare
\n\tExcellent computer skills in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint & Word)\u00a0
\n\tKnowledge of Poultry Computer Programmes such as Avihance would be beneficial\u00a0
\n\tProficiency in English is essential in this position<\/p>\n
Duties and Responsibilities<\/p>\n
Production & Operational Management<\/p>\n
\tManage all production activities to ensure compliance with standard operating procedures and achieve optimal output efficiencies.
\n\tOversee operational planning, including bird placements and depletions, to meet production targets cost-effectively.
\n\tEnsure the highest standards of fertile egg production to optimize hatchability and production efficiency.
\n\tAccurately calculate and issue feed and water requirements to meet nutritional needs, and effectively manage feed stock levels.<\/p>\n
Biosecurity & Animal Welfare<\/p>\n
\tEnforce and maintain a rigorous biosecurity program, ensuring strict hygiene, vaccination, and disease prevention protocols.
\n\tEnsure all livestock are treated humanely and in line with company and regulatory standards.<\/p>\n
Performance Monitoring & Reporting<\/p>\n
\tDrive improvement in flock performance, focusing on uniformity, point of lay cost (POLC), health, and welfare up to 65 weeks.
\n\tConduct post-mortems and report findings to senior operations management and the group veterinarian.
\n\tRecord and monitor weekly husbandry parameters.<\/p>\n
Farm Maintenance & Housekeeping<\/p>\n
\tEnsure thorough cleanout and sanitation of poultry houses, maintain short grass, clean drains, remove waste, and keep all buildings well maintained.
\n\tEnsure that breakdowns are reported and attended to timeously<\/p>\n
People Leadership & Safety<\/p>\n
\tAttending to HR\/IR matters (i.e. planning leave, time sheets, disciplinary measures, interviews etc.)
\n\tEngage and motivate your team to deliver safety excellence, identify and mitigate risks, and uphold safety standards.
\n\tCoach & Train employees on production, animal welfare, food safety, and quality requirements to build a high-performing team<\/p>\n
