Key Responsibility Areas<\/p>\n
\tLead, manage and control delivery\/implementation of major capital projects and development projects.
\n\tReviews the Council reports and recommendations emanating from the Service Unit.
\n\tProvides management information and guidance for the Head (Electricity) and undertakes special systems development at a high level.
\n\tUndertakes productivity studies as directed by the Head (Electricity).
\n\tUndertakes assessment of the end of year financial and business performance.
\n\tKeeps abreast of the latest technology and all matters relating to project management, design, implementation, delivery and maintenance of major projects and developments.
\n\tAssists the Head (Electricity) in executive and strategic management of the Unit and in aspects of monitoring, recording and reporting on project management, procurement and implementation processes.
\n\tRepresents the Head (Electricity) at relevant meetings, which could be at a national level.
\n\tOversee, facilitate, co-ordinate, identify and define the short, medium- and long-term objectives and evaluate best practices, policy prescripts and current business standards of the Unit.
\n\tDirect and control the implementation and monitoring of complex research management processes.
\n\tDevelop strategic partnerships with international funders and researchers that will lead the Unit in being a learning institution that provides sustainable innovative and cost-effective solutions to global challenges in Electricity.
\n\tDisseminating professional advice through assessing critical areas across function within key
\n\tengineering approaches, principles and concept features.
\n\tControl financial performance against Budget for projects.
\n\tFacilitate change management processes, consulting and advising line function leadership and professionals to improve the understanding of policies relating to Electricity works.<\/p>\n
Essential Requirements<\/p>\n
\tBachelor of Science in Engineering (NQF Level 8) in Electrical Engineering.
\n\tRegistered as a Professional Electrical Engineering Technician with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA).
\n\tValid motor vehicle driving license.
\n\t6 Years relevant post registration experience.<\/p>\n

\t7 years relevant post qualification experience.<\/p>\n
