Job Description<\/p>\n
\tContributing to the development of robust and scalable backend systems is the core function of a Bespoke Solutions Developer. We are seeking someone with excellent technical skills who can help drive efficiency through automation. You’ll collaborate with Senior Engineers, Product Managers, and other stakeholders to design, implement, and maintain applications to optimise processes. Reporting to the Software Engineer Director.<\/p>\n
Your primary responsibilities will include:<\/p>\n
\tDevelop Backend Systems: Design, develop, and implement backend systems using appropriate technologies and frameworks (e.g., Node.js, Python\/Django, Java\/Spring).
\n\tAPI Development: Design and develop RESTful APIs to support frontend applications and integrations with other systems.
\n\tDatabase Management: Work with databases (e.g., SQL, NoSQL) to design schemas, write queries, and optimise performance.
\n\tTesting and Debugging: Write unit and integration tests to ensure code quality and identify and fix bugs.
\n\tParticipate in Agile Development: Participate in Agile ceremonies (e.g., sprint planning, daily stand-ups, code reviews) and contribute to the continuous improvement of the development process.
\n\tLearn and Grow: Continuously learn and expand your knowledge of Software & Data Engineering.<\/p>\n
Qualifications<\/p>\n
\tBachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
\n\t2+ years of experience in web application development.
\n\tExpertise in JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and at least one modern front-end framework (React preferred).
\n\tSolid understanding of backend development (Node.js, Python, PHP, or similar).
\n\tExperience with RESTful API integration and asynchronous request handling.
\n\tExperience with Linux CLI.
\n\tFamiliarity with version control systems, preferably Git.
\n\tExperience with Integration Platforms & Tools.
\n\tStrong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
\n\tProficient in Agile methodologies and project management practices & tools like Jira.
\n\tStrategic thinker who can balance short-term needs with long-term growth.<\/p>\n
Advantageous:<\/p>\n
\tExperience with SQL.
\n\tExperience with Cloud Engineering\/Infrastructure (primarily GCP).
\n\tExperience with Unit Testing.
\n\tFamiliarity with DevOps practices and CI\/CD pipelines.
\n\tExperience managing\/configuring CMS’s.<\/p>\n
