\tBDO has a vacancy for a Manager in our Monitoring and Remediation Division.
\n\tThe primary purpose of the role is the operation of monitoring and remediation activities in the firm\u2019s system of quality management (SoQM) by performing reviews to conclude on the operating effectiveness of the firm\u2019s SoQM. This role will be reporting to the Manager and all other relevant Directors in Monitoring and Remediation division.<\/p>\n
Principle Outcomes<\/p>\n
Assisting with the monitoring and remediation activities in the firm\u2019s system of quality management, which includes:<\/p>\n
\tPlanning (SoQM plan, design of test procedures, and evidence gathering)
\n\tExecution and
\n\tReporting.<\/p>\n
Performing monitoring and remediation reviews on the following components of SoQM:<\/p>\n
\tThe firm\u2019s risk assessment process
\n\tGovernance and leadership
\n\tRelevant ethical requirements
\n\tAcceptance and continuance of client relationships and specific engagements
\n\tEngagement performance
\n\tResources
\n\tInformation and communication; and
\n\tThe monitoring and remediation process.<\/p>\n
Performing Theme-based inspections as prescribed by the firm.<\/p>\n
Attending relevant BDO Global calls relating to SoQM.<\/p>\n
Information and Communication:<\/p>\n
\tKeeping the Monitoring and Remediation SharePoint site up to date.
\n\tContributing to the Quality newsletter<\/p>\n
Professional administration:<\/p>\n
\tOngoing SoQM evidence gathering.
\n\tMaintenance of the library of findings for EIP and theme-based inspections.
\n\tMonitoring SoQM plan, dashboards and time tracker.
\n\tMonitoring of SoQM recommendations, issues, findings, and deficiencies.<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/p>\n
\tExperience in external audit. Experience in quality management functions is an advantage
\n\tNo requirement for CA (SA)
\n\tCareer manager
\n\tUnderstanding of compliance with the Independent Regulatory Board for Auditors Code of Professional Conduct, legal and regulatory framework, professional standards, and evidence-gathering
\n\tManaging information such as the library of findings and other professional administration
\n\tKnowledge of ISQC 1\/ISQM 1 (although extensive training will be provided)
\n\tKnowledge of Excel and Word is important
\n\tFull time employment
\n\tBased in Johannesburg<\/p>\n
