CRITICAL PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES<\/p>\n
\tOrganize workflow and assign work to personnel to ensure attainment of section\u2019s objectives in accordance to company policies, work procedures, work instructions, project schedules, work orders and employee capabilities.
\n\tSupervise pipe fabrication, repair and installation activities and apply knowledge of various materials, hot work processes, cutting techniques, welding equipment and fabrication requirements.
\n\tSet performance goals and deadlines in ways that comply with divisional plan, evaluate employee\u2019s performance, accountability and provide feedback for continued employee growth.
\n\tDisciplines staff as and when required in accordance with company disciplinary procedures and institutes corrective action.\u00a0
\n\tProvide specialist advice on ship repair, construction, maintenance and installation to ensure work is carried out to the correct naval standards.\u00a0
\n\tConduct risk assessment and ensure work is carried out in compliance to OHS Act and housekeeping requirements.\u00a0
\n\tEnsuring that the staff are utilized effectively and efficiently.\u00a0
\n\tLiaise with Section Manager on capacity problems and workshop clerk on administrative duties.\u00a0
\n\tEnsure that work is completed within the estimated time, to the correct applicable standards and that all documentation is completed to ensure client satisfaction.
\n\tProvide technical input on specific equipment, control items, items of supply for budgetary and\/or purchasing purposes.
\n\tProvide technical input for configuration management and control by verifying and proposing technical documentation changes relating to systems and spares
\n\tUndertaking of specified personnel administrative responsibilities to ensure an efficient and highly motivated workforce<\/p>\n
\u00a0QUALIFICATIONS<\/p>\n
\tNational Technical Diploma\/ National Diploma in mechanical engineering\u00a0
\n\tTrade Certificate Pipe Fitting or Boiler making (Red seal) or Pipe Fitter Category 5 would be an added advantage\u00a0<\/p>\n
EXPERIENCE<\/p>\n
\tMinimum 5 years post qualification technical experience in the pipe fitting or Boiler making field.
\n\t2 Years Supervisory experience\u00a0<\/p>\n
Added advantages:<\/p>\n
\tExperience in Marine and military industrial environment.
\n\tExperience in the manufacturing and boat building field.<\/p>\n
