This role is an exciting opportunity, requiring a proactive approach to identifying and testing key information technology controls related to financial reporting. The goal is to develop innovative audit solutions tailored to the specific information technology risks faced by businesses.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tConduct general information technology controls testing.
\n\tPerform application controls testing.
\n\tAnalyse information systems data to evaluate the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of transaction
\n\tDevelop a thorough understanding of clients’ businesses, identifying risks and controls.
\n\tProvide technical support to financial teams\u2019 auditors when computer-assisted audit techniques (CAATS) are required.
\n\tFamiliarity with or willingness to learn data analysis using tools like IDEA.
\n\tLearn about information technology risk management, information technology governance concepts, and best practice frameworks.
\n\tPrepare audit plans and gather evidence through interviews and validation.
\n\tEngage with clients during audits.
\n\tDocument work and findings in accordance with the BDO audit and risk management process.
\n\tKeep the management team and clients informed of potential audit delays and escalate issues as needed.
\n\tValidate all information technology audit findings before drafting the information technology audit report.
\n\tParticipate in meetings with clients and the audit team.
\n\tProvide feedback to the information technology management team when required.
\n\tAdhere to the firm\u2019s Employment Equity Policy.<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/p>\n
\tBachelor\u2019s degree in computer science, information systems, informatics, internal auditing, or equivalent.\u00a0
\n\tHonours in the above fields is advantageous.\u00a0
\n\tKnowledge of COBIT, ITIL, ISO27001-2, and other models is a plus.\u00a0
\n\tDesire to pursue or currently studying for a Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) qualification.<\/p>\n
