\tPBT Group has an opportunity for a Business Intelligence Business Analyst (BIBA). A BI Business Analyst or BIBA has a crucially important role to play, in bridging any gaps between business and IT, to understand how data-driven changes to process, products, services, software and hardware can improve efficiencies and add value for clients.
\n\tThe Business Intelligence Business Analyst (BIBA) primarily serves as liaison between the end users and BI project team and gathers business requirements. The BIBA is an expert in understanding business objectives, questions, and problems, and at obtaining and presenting data to address the issues. The analyst understands the tools and techniques used to create data results that range from basic queries through multidimensional analyses and data mining, forming new relations and derivations as necessary, and extracting the maximum amount of valid information content from the data. Extensive insight into the business and the data are essential.
\n\tThe BIBA participates in design of data marts to provide the optimal balance of data availability, format, flexibility, and performance. The BIBA is involved in the end-to-end Data Product Lifecyle, including requirement definition, data analysis, data modelling.<\/p>\n
Duties:<\/p>\n
Requirement\u2019s definition phase:<\/p>\n
\tInterview end users to determine requirements for data, reports, analyses, metadata, training, service levels, data quality, and performance
\n\tHelp identify and assess potential data sources
\n\tValidate that BI meets requirements and service level agreements
\n\tCoordinate prototype reviews
\n\tGather prototype feedback
\n\tDocument requirements in relevant formats:
\n\tData Warehouse content requirements
\n\tData Mart requirements
\n\tInformation output requirements
\n\tInformation exploitation tool \u2013 functional requirements<\/p>\n
Data Profiling, Feasibility and Scope Definition Phase:<\/p>\n
\tAnalyse business information requirements
\n\tRecommend appropriate scope of requirements and priorities
\n\tWork with production data to validate business requirements
\n\tMap business needs\/requirements to subject area model and to logical enterprise model
\n\tDiscover dimension hierarchies
\n\tValidate hierarchies with production data
\n\tDefine business rules for state detection<\/p>\n
Design Phase:<\/p>\n
\tWork with architects to translate requirements into technical specifications
\n\tDiscover business transformation rules
\n\tWork with production data to design access structures
\n\tClassify business users by type
\n\tDevelop security rules\/standards
\n\tCreate state transformation models<\/p>\n
Development Phase:<\/p>\n
\tOn-hand support to development team to accurately interpret requirements and translate into a quality solution.<\/p>\n
Testing Phase:<\/p>\n
\tPlan acceptance test (functional and data integrity)
\n\tExecute acceptance test plan internally
\n\tFacilitate user acceptance testing<\/p>\n
Change Management and Deployment:<\/p>\n
\tEducate users on warehousing capabilities
\n\tDesign training infrastructure
\n\tDefine and get agreement with business users on service-level agreements
\n\tDevelop training materials
\n\tWrite users’ guide
\n\tTrain BI users
\n\tAssist with definition of support plan
\n\tInterface with process teams regarding business process reengineering
\n\tAssist users in finding the right information<\/p>\n
Skills and Experience Required:<\/p>\n
\tAt least 3 \/ 5 years\u2019 experience with a proven track record of delivering Data & Analytics projects through facilitating the Data\/Analytics Development Lifecycle.<\/p>\n

\tApply BIBA methodology in agile environments
\n\tStrong SQL skills
\n\tSome systems analysis (source-to-target mappings, data profiling)
\n\tDeep knowledge of modern data platforms
\n\tGood general understanding of the relevant industry.
\n\tSubstantial business analysis experience in a BI environment.
\n\tA good understanding of business processes.
\n\tAbility to assimilate and apply relevant business principles.
\n\tBe able to work within the framework of project methodologies and work independently on support and maintenance tasks.<\/p>\n
Required Qualifications\/ Certification:<\/p>\n
\tIdeally candidates should have an IT or business-related qualification.
\n\tFTI or similar BA qualification will be advantageous.<\/p>\n
