Requirements for the job:<\/p>\n
\tA relevant degree (NQF 7 level qualification) in Internal Auditing, Accounting, or a Finance-related field (e.g., BCom, BTech).
\n\tAt least 4 years\u2019 recent and relevant work experience in an Internal Audit department or environment
\n\tIntermediate to advance proficiency in MS Office applications, particularly Word, Excel, and Power Point.
\n\tDemonstrable ability to design, implement and interpret data analytics
\n\tDemonstrable planning, organising, critical thinking and problem-solving skills
\n\tExcellent analytical, time management, and project management skills.
\n\tProven experience in facilitating sessions and delivering professional presentations.
\n\tExcellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills.
\n\tAbility to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
\n\tDemonstrated capacity to maintain high performance across diverse environments, tasks, and team dynamics.<\/p>\n

\n\tCOSO principles (all standards and principles)

\tProfessional audit related designations e.g. Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA),

\n\tMember of the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA)
\n\tDemonstrable knowledge of audit software TeamMate, SAP, PeopleSoft
\n\tDemonstrable knowledge of PowerBi, CAATs or similar analytic tools<\/p>\n
Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
\tAudit planning and preparation – conducting preliminary surveys as per IA methodology, compile system descriptions, walkthroughs, risk assessments, and evaluations relating to the University\u2019s governance, operations and information systems; performing control adequacy assessments, developing scope and engagement objectives, compiling audit planning memorandums (engagement letter).
\n\tConduct financial, compliance, systems and operational and follow-up audits. Develop audit programs, perform sampling, execute audit procedures according to the audit program and utilise CAATs to identify discrepancies.
\n\tExecute quality work, develop and document quality working papers, record relevant information to support conclusions and engagement results in compliance with IA methodology & IIA Global Internal Audit Standards.
\n\tReport, monitor and maintain records of audit findings and reports that accurately reflect audit execution. Present clear and concise conclusions, detailing all relevant findings, and provide logically sound, practical recommendations. \u00a0Ensure management action plans address observations and root causes effectively.
\n\tSolicit and document management action plans, target implementation dates and assignment of management action plans.
\n\tEffective communication, stakeholder management, and time management in adhering to deadlines.
\n\tContributing positively to team culture and values and capacitating the team in specialised areas of expertise.
\n\tSupervise selected audit assignments as and when required or peer review.
\n\tBe an ambassador for good governance and internal audit practices, providing input into methodology maintenance\/ development and departmental initiatives.
\n\tCollaborate with team members and external consultants on audit or other engagements. Maintain strict confidentiality and uphold ethical standards.<\/p>\n
