Purpose of Job<\/p>\n
\tA principal Driller must ensure that work standards are met according to clients\u2019 requirements, must be able to comply to the mine health and safety act. Acting as a Rig manager from time to time when required ensuring the smooth operations of the rig. Manage all employees and service providers on site.<\/p>\n
Key Accountabilities<\/p>\n
\tPrevious experience in a Directional Drilling environment would be advantageous.
\n\tBe able to read and interpret a geology plans.
\n\tControl of drilling and directional drilling systems.
\n\tTaking important independent decisions regarding drilling activities.
\n\tInterpret path-tracker information and plot it on site plan and Excels spreadsheets
\n\tKeeping of records and generating shift reports.
\n\tDo regular risk assessment or SLAM.
\n\tBe able to calculate borehole position relative to Rig collar elevation.
\n\tInspection and basic maintenance of equipment.
\n\tEmpower team members to achieve results through task ownership.
\n\tResponsible for personnel training and development.
\n\tMust be able to achieve all QCDSM KPI\u2019s agreed upon in the business unit.
\n\tBe able operate all drill rig equipment.
\n\tBe able to coordinates all rig moves and turns effectively.<\/p>\n
Formal Education<\/p>\n
\tNational Senior Certificate \/ N3 Mathematics and Science\u00a0
\n\tFormal tertiary qualification in engineering, drilling, geology and Colin Rice training or mining would be advantageous.\u00a0
\n\tValid Red Ticket and First Aid Certificate\u00a0<\/p>\n
Experience:<\/p>\n
\tExperience in organizing activities in a drilling environment
\n\tExperience in a production environment.<\/p>\n
