Job Purpose<\/p>\n
\tThe Housekeeping team will be responsible for providing room cleaning services to support the delivery and achievement of operational excellence and service standards in the hotel, and encouraging innovative solutions, in line with Sun standards and regulations.
\n\tThe team will partner with key stakeholders to create great customer experiences for guests visiting our properties; and contributing to the growth of hospitality revenue and profitability.
\n\tThe Linen Manager as part of the housekeeping team will be responsible for leading the linen and uniform teams, processes and operations, ensuring proper laundry, storage and control of linen and towels for guest rooms, and staff uniforms, facilitating the valet, repair and alteration services as required by guests and in line with Sun standards and regulations.
\n\tThese goals will be achieved by working in collaboration and co-operation with the team, and outsourced service providers, displaying a friendly, professional attitude, addressing all guest queries politely and knowledgeably and providing superb customer service.<\/p>\n
Key Performance Areas<\/p>\n
\tDevelop processes, systems and controls for linen, laundry, uniforms, taking into account technical advancements in the field of linen operations
\n\tRecord, monitor and report on linen costs
\n\tPrepare linen budgets
\n\tApprove distribution of linen to guestrooms and relevant departments
\n\tOversee and maintain par stock levels of linen, stock, amenities, housekeeping operating equipment and cleaning chemicals as per SOP
\n\tOrganize and monitor inventories against linen, uniform and fixed assets registers
\n\tOversee the accurate stocking of cleaning carts with linen and amenities for cleaning of guest rooms
\n\tMonitor the return of additional stock cleaning carts at end of shift
\n\tMonitor that linen and laundry supplies are ordered and controlled in line with occupancy levels
\n\tEnsure the proper running of equipment and proper allocation of cleaning chemicals
\n\tManage staff uniform stock and recordkeeping \u2013 including receiving, issuing, and documenting
\n\tOversee the repair and maintenance of uniforms for all hotel employees as required
\n\tFacilitate and participate in stock control procedures on a monthly basis
\n\tFacilitate the use of a tracking system to monitor and report on laundry and levels of condemned linen
\n\tFacilitate and oversee the valet and repair of guest clothing items in line with requests
\n\tGreet guests and resolve guest complaints and queries promptly and in a polite manner
\n\tIdentify employee training needs, and facilitate on the job training and coaching to close developmental gaps
\n\tLead adherence to SOPs including conducting quality assurance of work performed
\n\tConduct onboarding processes for all new employees in housekeeping
\n\tResponsible for maintaining cleanliness and safety requirements of the linen and uniform areas, and reporting any maintenance issues
\n\tMonitor quality standards and service delivery by service providers, intervening where necessary to guarantee efficient and accurate services
\n\tDevelop staff scheduling and duty allocations to ensure sufficient coverage in line with business occupancies
\n\tHandle shift briefings \/ handovers \/ shift reports
\n\tMonitor and manage staff appearance and functioning of equipment and systems for the function
\n\tProvide feedback and reports back to management and business partners on challenges being experienced<\/p>\n

Education<\/p>\n
\tGrade 12
\n\tDiploma in hotel management is an advantage<\/p>\n
Experience<\/p>\n
\t6 years\u2019 experience in housekeeping
\n\t2 years\u2019 experience in a supervisory role
\n\tExperience using industrial cleaning equipment and products<\/p>\n
Work conditions and special requirements<\/p>\n
\tMay be required to work overtime in line with operational requirements (this may include weekends, public holidays)
\n\tMust have manual dexterity
\n\tPhysical mobility and stamina<\/p>\n
