\tSunshine Bakery \u00a0is seeking a Cost Accountant. We are \u00a0looking for an individual who is analytical, has attention to detail and experienced in cost and management accounting. The successful incumbent will be responsible for cost centre accounting for the site, as well as assistance with capital and BOM related projects and perform cost accounting as well as inventory management
\n\tThe role will be based in Pietermaritzburg.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Minimum Requirements\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n
\tMinimum 2-3 years\u2019 experience in cost and management accounting or project accouting
\n\tPreferably a B.Com or equivalent and studying towards CIMA
\n\tGood communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across departments
\n\tStrong computer skill and ERP experience (e.g. JDEdwards\/ SAP\/Syspro) essential.
\n\tWorking knowledge of manufacturing and project management principles.
\n\tAbility to multi-task with good time management skills.
\n\tPay strict attention to detail and accuracy.
\n\tAbility to collaborate with teams<\/p>\n
Duties & Responsibilities\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0
\nData Collection<\/p>\n
\tConstruct data accumulation systems for a cost accounting system to determine costs of business activity such as raw material purchases, inventory and labor and propose process improvements.
\n\tCreate and review the controls needed for data accumulation and reporting systems
\n\tCollaborate intimately with the operations management teams to drive the systems into the business and manage effective handover to operations.<\/p>\n
Inventory<\/p>\n
\tCoordinate physical inventory counts and cycle counts
\n\tMonitor and review all variances \u2013 manufacture, price, inventory and resolve issues
\n\tMonitor inventory valuation reports
\n\tFull review of all inventory movements on each site
\n\tIdentify and resolve all control weaknesses
\n\tEstablish audit controls
\n\tCompile standard reports using standard company reporting tools
\n\tReview, suggest, report on operational processes as they relate to inventory control<\/p>\n
Costs and system maintenance<\/p>\n
\tAnalyzing actual manufacturing costs and preparing periodic reports comparing standard costs to actual production costs
\n\tValidate the cost of goods sold as part of the month-end close
\n\tAccumulate and apply overhead costs as required by generally accepted accounting principles
\n\tLocate and dispose of obsolete inventory
\n\tAssisting in Month end close of the General Ledger<\/p>\n
Maintain Inventory master data in JDE<\/p>\n
\tBill of Materials Maintenance
\n\tAutomatic Accounting Instruction set ups
\n\tCost Roll ups
\n\tSet up and maintenance of branch plants, locations etc<\/p>\n
Analysis<\/p>\n
\tConduct ongoing process constraint analyses
\n\tReport on breakeven points by products, work centers and factories
\n\tProviding management with reports specifying and comparing factors affecting prices and profitability of products or services.
\n\tReport on periodic variances and their causes, focusing in particular on spending variances
\n\tAnalyze capital budgeting requests
\n\tPerform cost accumulation tasks as a member of the target costing group<\/p>\n
People Management<\/p>\n
\tSet objectives for staff, ensuring full productivity and value add to the business
\n\tManage staff performance and give regular feedback, taking disciplinary action when necessary and giving recognition where it\u2019s due.
\n\tConduct formal performance reviews twice yearly
\n\tCoach and mentor subordinates
\n\tLeave planning, ensuring no leave is lost
\n\tControl labour cost through improving efficiencies
\n\tParticipate in recruitment of new employees
\n\tAssist HR with creating job descriptions as and when needed<\/p>\n
General<\/p>\n
\tAh Hoc ERP Systems projects \u2013 development and implementation
\n\tDevelopment of Hubble Reports as and when required<\/p>\n
