Minimum Requirements:
\nnGAP Eligibility Criteria:\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tMust be 40 years of age or younger (i.e.s40 years) in line with nGAP guidelines\u00a0
\n\tA Master\u2019s degree in Nursing with a minimum pass mark of 70%\u00a0
\n\tDemonstrate interest in pursuing a career in academia\u00a0
\n\tEligibility and willingness to undertake PhD studies.\u00a0
\n\tMust be a South African citizen.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Discipline-Specific Requirements:\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tCurrent registration with the South African Nursing Council (SANC) as a Nurse (General, Psychiatric, and community) and Midwife\u00a0
\n\tA minimum of five (5) years\u2019 experience working as a General Nurse in a healthcare institution.\u00a0
\n\tA minimum of two years\u2019 experience in clinical teaching or mentoring within a healthcare facility, nursing college, or institution of higher learning will be an added advantage. Proficiency in computer literacy.\u00a0
\n\tStrong organisational, planning, time management, and multitasking skills.\u00a0
\n\tEffective communication and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines\u00a0<\/p>\n
Key Responsibilities<\/p>\n
The appointed candidate will:<\/p>\n
\tUndertake and complete doctoral studies, with ongoing research publication and participation in academic conferences.\u00a0
\n\tParticipate in a six-year academic development programme under nGAP.\u00a0
\n\tTeach and assess undergraduate nursing studies in both online and venuebased formats.\u00a0
\n\tContribute to curriculum development for the Bachelor of Nursing (R.174) programme.\u00a0
\n\tDevelop and update study materials and learner guides.\u00a0
\n\tConduct clinical accompaniment and provide mentorship to students in accredited clinical settings.\u00a0
\n\tPerform relevant administrative duties related to teaching, learning, and community engagement as assigned by the Head of Department\u00a0
\n\tEnsure compliance with all record keeping and reporting requirements of the South African Nursing Council\u00a0<\/p>\n
