\nTASKS, DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES<\/p>\n
\tTo analyze costs, identify areas for potential savings, and work with various teams to implement cost-effective strategies.\u00a0
\n\tEnsures the lowest cost consistent with required quality standards on a timely basis by procuring foods, beverages, materials, services, equipment and supplies within the RHG supplier platform
\n\tEnsures competitive pricing is used for all foods, beverages, cleaning supplies, consumable supplies and materials. All pricing variances to be communicated to Procurement Manager
\n\tCost Reduction: Identifying opportunities to reduce costs and improve efficiency
\n\tQuarterly price comparisons to be performed
\n\tIdentifies local vendors if preferred RHG suppliers cannot assist with the requirement and negotiates rates\/price together with relevant department head and informs RHG Procurement (In line with SOP)
\n\tAssist with monthly OE\/ Assets stock counts
\n\tEnsures that all stock received and issued within the system (Materials Control) is done daily which also allows for segregation between Storeman and Purchasing
\n\tFollow-up on outstanding credit notes
\n\tFollows corporate guidelines on purchasing from corporate suppliers
\n\tEnsures that purchased items adhere to par levels standards; takes corrective action as required
\n\tEnsures that orders placed correspondent to the invoice received eg. weight, prices, dates, quantity and order number on the invoice
\n\tMaintain pricing catalogues and inform relevant departments of all price fluctuations. The impact of the price increase\/decrease to be evaluated together with the HOD.
\n\tEnsure that FIFO is implemented correctly
\n\tCommunicate with Storeman and HOD\u2019s regarding daily, weekly and monthly deliveries and services
\n\tMaintains the competitive status and profitability of the purchasing operation by monitoring industry trends and recommending appropriate action to be taken
\n\tProvides assistance in the calculation of cost of all selling items based on purchase price and market
\n\tAssist departments in achieving their required COS % targets
\n\tEnsure food and beverage cost prices are kept in line with approved menu costings
\n\tPrepares a weekly purchase report and send to relevant department heads
\n\tAs the recipient with access to the inventory control system and access to pricing, assist with weekly and month end stock stakes
\n\tPerforms regular Inventory Counts as well as regular spot checks
\n\tRegularly reviews ICQ requirements and performs test to ensure compliance
\n\tDaily Credit Card Reconciliation & Cash Reconciliations
\n\tVerifies price on corporate contract items<\/p>\n
Qualifications
\nSKILLS<\/p>\n
\tDiploma\/Degree in Costing\/Financial Accounting\/National Diploma
\n\tExperience in budgeting, forecasting, and cost control minimum 2 years experience
\n\tProficiency in financial and accounting principles.
\n\tStrong mathematical and analytical problem-solving skills.
\n\tExcellent communication and interpersonal skills.
\n\tAbility to use relevant software, such as SAGE systems, Excel, Micros & Materials Control.
\n\tAttention to detail and a meticulous approach to work.\u00a0
\n\tFinancial Controller will require reports to be compiled for the purpose of review & investigation in order to mitigate any potential risks for the business
\n\tAttends meetings and training required by HR
\n\tAssists colleagues to perform similar or related jobs when necessary
\n\tAccepts flexible work schedule necessary for uninterrupted service to hotel guests and the hotel\u2019s stakeholders<\/p>\n
