Purpose of Job<\/p>\n
\tWe are seeking a dedicated Occupational Therapist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for implementing and maintaining functional rehabilitation and assessment programs, ensuring the quality of client care activities in accordance with the Health Professionals Council of South Africa (HPCSA) guidelines. The role includes assistance with effective management of the assessment and rehabilitation area, existing programs, and adherence to the legal requirements of the profession within the RFA Centre.<\/p>\n
Key responsibilities include:<\/p>\n
\tRehabilitation and Functional Assessment
\n\tErgonomic management
\n\tJob Analysis management and review of occupational risk exposure profiles.
\n\tEquipment and stock control
\n\tAdministration and meetings
\n\tSHERQ adherence and compliance in own area of work
\n\tTo have overall accountability for the planning and management of own complex and specialised caseload<\/p>\n
Key Accountabilities
\nSHE Excellence and Risk Management:<\/p>\n
\tUnderstand and implement the One Sasol SHE Excellence approach and risk-based methodology.
\n\tComprehend Sasol Group’s key SHE undesirable events and controls.
\n\tApply the SHE risk-based approach to manage key SHE undesirable events and controls relevant to this role.<\/p>\n
Health Program Delivery:<\/p>\n
\tPlan, coordinate, interpret, and report on the medical surveillance program and findings related to RFA test battery.
\n\tDeliver cost-effective health programs on time.
\n\tAdhere to quality management systems and ensure effective cost control.
\n\tAccept and implement advice to improve health programs.
\n\tMonitor, refer, and follow up on patients.
\n\tTreat and manage occupational injuries and diseases within relevant scope.<\/p>\n
Performance and Leadership:<\/p>\n
\tSupport the company’s vision, values, and goals.
\n\tManage performance goals agreement and alignment.
\n\tAlign and deliver objectives within the team.
\n\tFormulate Personal Development Plans (PDP) and monitor individual competence improvement.
\n\tEnsure development of personal technical, specialist skills and knowledge.
\n\tEnsure health programs meet business requirements and objectives.<\/p>\n
Program Execution and Compliance:<\/p>\n
\tEnsure effective application and review of policies, practices, standards, procedures, and methods.
\n\tExecute programs in accordance with SHE policies and statutory requirements.
\n\tIdentify problems and assist with implementation of solutions based on agreed recommendations.
\n\tMonitor progress, report, and take corrective action.<\/p>\n
Stakeholder Management and Compliance:<\/p>\n
\tComply with professional and statutory requirements.
\n\tManage internal and external stakeholder relationships.
\n\tHandle external stakeholder relationships effectively.
\n\tParticipate in the implementation of corrective and remedial actions.
\n\tSupport Sasol in retaining OSAS 18001 certification regarding occupational medicine matters.
\n\tEngage in relevant governance and SHE professional forums.<\/p>\n
Innovation and Employee Wellness:<\/p>\n
\tProvide new ideas, thinking, and approaches.
\n\tIdentify and assist with interventions for non-conformances within the RFA Department.
\n\tContribute to employee wellness initiatives.<\/p>\n
Formal Education<\/p>\n
\tUniversity Bachelor\u2019s Degree in Occupational Therapy<\/p>\n
Min Experience<\/p>\n
\t3+ relevant years (including community service)<\/p>\n
Certification<\/p>\n
\tCertificate in PWC and FWC assessment:
\n\tBasic principles and methodology or experience\/previous exposure to Rehabilitation and functional assessment test battery would be an advantage.
\n\tCertificate of Competence as an Ergonomics Risk Auditor (Recommended)
\n\tFirst Aid level 1 Certificate (Recommended).
\n\tAccreditation Registration in Health Professional Council of SA (HPCSA) and Occupational Therapy Association of South Africa (OTASA) \u2013 Recommended
\n\tExperience in a mining and plant work environment will be an advantage
\n\tFormal qualifications\/competencies in hand rehabilitation, vocational rehabilitation and assessment, will be advantageous.<\/p>\n
Competencies<\/p>\n
\tExperience and previous exposure to ergonomic assessment, report writing and recommendations.
\n\tExperience and previous exposure to conducting functional work capacity assessments and writing professional and comprehensive reports to inform return to work recommendations, re-deployment and reasonable accommodations within the work area.
\n\tNeeds to be flexible, ability to work under pressure and cope with high work demands.
\n\tNeeds to able to effectively work within a multidisciplinary and intradisciplinary team.
\n\tExperience and previous exposure to conducting cognitive evaluations within the realm of Occupational Therapy to inform return to work recommendations, re-deployment and reasonable accommodations.
\n\tMust have the physical abilities to conduct onsite work visits in a plant and mining environment.
\n\tExperience and exposure to performing physical and cognitive job analysis
\n\tKnowledge of relevant legislation.<\/p>\n
