\n\tValid SANC licence
\n\tPost-qualification work experience in surgical ward is essential
\n\tCompetent in the demonstration and assessment of relevant clinical procedures
\n\tA good understanding and application of the nursing Scope of Practice and knowledge of patient care
\n\tHigh Care experience is essential (ICU experience not required).
\n\tConfidence in managing post-op patients and escalating care appropriately.
\n\tStrong verbal and written communication skills.
\n\tAbility to work independently and lead during night shifts.
\n\tProfessional, calm under pressure, and detail-oriented<\/p>\n
Key Outputs\u00a0\u00a0 \u00a0<\/p>\n
\tMonitor post-operative patients and assess for any signs of deterioration.
\n\tRespond promptly to changes in patient condition by:
\n\tNotifying the manager on call
\n\tLiaising with surgeons after hours
\n\tActivating the emergency call team if required
\n\tAccurately report and document patient observations and changes.
\n\tCommunicate clearly and professionally with the multidisciplinary team, especially with surgeons involved in the patient’s care.
\n\tTake full responsibility as the senior nurse on duty during night shifts, making sound clinical decisions when needed.<\/p>\n
