Purpose<\/p>\n
\tThe Senior Process Engineer will develop process engineering solutions during various project design stages, requiring a high level of self-execution.
\n\tIntegral to creating efficient solutions for clients, the role involves working in a multidisciplinary team to meet project requirements and deadlines.
\n\tResponsibilities include applying process engineering principles to enhance client facilities and collaborating with clients, vendors and stakeholders to solve complex process engineering problems.<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/p>\n
\tReview client proposals and requirements in terms of process engineering and design.
\n\tDeliver process technical deliverables for concept and basic design packages.
\n\tDevelop process and hydraulic simulations and be able to interpret results
\n\tWhether delivered internally or through external resources, manage and oversee all aspects of process engineering deliverables that will ensure the delivery of quality work to other disciplines.
\n\tPlay a pivotal role during flow sheet (PFD\/P&ID) development.
\n\tParticipate in safety review studies (PHA\/HAZOP etc.) and closing off actions.
\n\tTranslate process intent across disciplines during design and managing interfaces.
\n\tInteracting with OEMs and evaluating vendor proposals for bid clarifications.
\n\tAssist in planning and reviewing technical work, and maintaining project schedules and work plans.
\n\tCoaching of graduates through technical delivery.
\n\tWork closely with other disciplines, project managers and engineering managers to support and achieve the goals of the company.
\n\tAssume the lead role for multi\u2013disciplinary projects where required.
\n\tEnsure application of appropriate workflows for quality assurance.
\n\tSupport the sharing of knowledge with regard to engineering and technical expertise.
\n\tIdentify and communicate lessons learned and ensure timely input\/feedback to identified specifications, checklists and procedures.<\/p>\n
Qualifications\/Experience<\/p>\n
\tB.Eng.\/ BSc. Eng. in Chemical Engineering.
\n\t10+ years\u2019 experience as Process Engineer in the Petrochemical industry with a proven track record in basic engineering, design, commissioning and operation support.
\n\tRegistered Pr. Eng. with ECSA
\n\tDemonstrated ability in planning and organising, controlling, coordinating, and directing process engineering activities.
\n\tComputer literacy with MS Office and Process simulation tools (Aspen+, Hysys, PROII, etc.), equipment sizing tools (HTRI, HTFS, etc.) and hydraulics tools (AFT Fathom\/Arrow, Flownex, etc.).
\n\tKnowledge of applicable design codes, standards and regulations.<\/p>\n

\tCapable of working in a diverse team.
\n\tZero tolerance towards unsafe designs, hazardous acts and a passion for a zero-harm culture through safe engineering solutions.
\n\tAble to conceptually understand a problem and develop fit-for-purpose solutions for partners, creating long-term relationships.
\n\tMust be capable of evaluating and weighing alternatives, establishing relative priorities, formulating decisions that affect all phases of projects and completing the life cycle of proposed engineering solutions.
\n\tComfortable working in a matrix environment, reporting to multiple managers on projects and to functional disciplines.
\n\tAbility to work across disciplines, have excellent communication skills and the ability to work well with others as well as independently.
\n\tSelf-starter who takes ownership of problems.
\n\tAbility to work under pressure.
\n\tOpen-mindedness and agility to respond to changing problem statements Emotionally resilient and able to make a convincing argument and influence customer decision-making for the benefit of all stakeholders.<\/p>\n
