Responsibilities<\/p>\n
\tControl and operate all machinery related to the silos during the shift
\n\tStop and start all equipment within silo complexes, and ensure all equipment and machinery are operated efficiently and safe. This will be in conjunction with all downstream production units
\n\tAll breakdowns, deviation and defects regarding equipment must be reported to the maintenance supervisor on a continuous basis
\n\tMust assist maintenance personnel with their task during breakdowns to ensure efficient plant operations
\n\tWeigh, grade and offload all incoming seed to the allocated silo
\n\tTemperature monitoring of the silos
\n\tContinuously monitor silo levels and the product structure and formation within silo
\n\tEnsure continuous quality monitoring is performed
\n\tReport all quality deviations to relevant Manager
\n\tEnsure good storage practices are upheld
\n\tEnsure good housekeeping practices and compliance
\n\tSupervision of team
\n\tEnsure his team are efficiently performing their tasks
\n\tEnsure all the policies and procedures of SOILL are always applied
\n\tAttend relevant training as required and scheduled by management
\n\tCompliance to safety, food safety, and environmental procedures as per SOILL policy
\n\tAny other reasonable relevant task allocated by Agricultural Resource Manager as required by plant operations\u00a0<\/p>\n
Health and Safety<\/p>\n
\tParticipate in safety forums created by Soill for example safety meetings and safety talks
\n\tFollow-up on any activities assigned through safety meetings \/ committees \/ representatives \/ management
\n\tReport all safety incidents to the relevant people
\n\tAttend safety education and refresher programmes
\n\tComply with safety policies and procedures at Soill
\n\tDistribute safety information as and when required
\n\tWear protective clothing (where applicable) at all times<\/p>\n
Employee management and development<\/p>\n
\tEnsure overall compliance to relevant procedures and policies.
\n\tEnsure that all team members have clearly defined job profiles\u00a0
\n\tRegular goal review completed to assess achievement of results
\n\tSupport, coaching and mentoring is continuously provided to ensure that objectives are met
\n\tEnsure that development plans are in place for each employee
\n\tAppropriate allocation of resources to meet operational demands
\n\tEnsure that events\/activities taking place in the team are effectively communicated within team
\n\tEnsure adequate succession planning in order to meet ongoing and anticipated business requirements<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/p>\n
Minimum Qualification and Experience:<\/p>\n
\tGrade 12
\n\tComputer Literate
\n\tForklift licence would be advantageous
\n\tApplicable grain grading and handling experience recommended
\n\tProven ability to oversee a small operations and proven strong administrative skills<\/p>\n
