\tGrade 12 Certificate
\n\tBetween the ages of 18 to 29 years (Considerable)
\n\tExcellent communication skills (verbal and written)
\n\tFluency in English and or Afrikaans and or IsiXhosa
\n\tPrevious experience working with adolescents
\n\tComputer literacy (Ms. Office)
\n\tAbility to take initiative
\n\tAttention to detail
\n\tAbility to work with teams and independently
\n\tGood planning and organizing
\n\tTime management<\/p>\n
Advantageous:<\/p>\n
\tWork experience in a health\/clinic environment
\n\tExperience in working with adolescents and youth
\n\tBasic- knowledge of public health and community resources
\n\tAble to lead small group activities
\n\tPrevious mental health research\/service experience<\/p>\n
Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
\tWelcome adolescents to the health park
\n\tRelate to adolescents in a friendly and non-judgmental manner
\n\tInvite adolescents to participate in a mental health research study
\n\tAssist in consenting adolescents to participate in research
\n\tAssist in collecting data from adolescents during the research study
\n\tAttend a training programme to gain knowledge and learn skills to be able to deliver a mental health intervention
\n\tUndergo assessment of skills to deliver the intervention
\n\tRun individual and small groups sessions with adolescents related to mental health
\n\tAssist in retaining adolescents throughout the study to attend intervention sessions and study visits
\n\tParticipate in staff meetings and appropriate training workshops, supervision and debriefing as organized and required by the project
\n\tMaintain research participant confidentiality
\n\tPerform all activities according to Good Clinical Practice Standards
\n\tWork in a consistently ethical manner
\n\tProvide report back during weekly site meetings
\n\tCommunicate ongoing issues, concerns, successes to the Line Manager<\/p>\n
