Duties & Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
Performance Area:\u00a0<\/p>\n
\tImplements library policies and provide feedback to National Librarian\u00a0
\n\tManage Library activities by facilitating access and process\u00a0
\n\tUpdates library holdings in shared catalogue\u00a0
\n\tProvide training (Lecturers & students)\u00a0
\n\tAccessioning (receipting of newly purchased materials)\u00a0
\n\tEnsure that relevant and latest resources are available in the library including,\u00a0
\n\tFollows-up on the subscriptions of journals and periodicals\u00a0
\n\tReplaces back issues of journals with latest issues\u00a0
\n\tConducts library orientation for new students and staff\u00a0
\n\tConducts information literacy workshops including training in use of library resources\u00a0
\n\tProvides information service to students and academic staff\u00a0
\n\tPromotes usage of library resources and services\u00a0
\n\tChecks and updates notice boards\u00a0
\n\tPromotes information and research through displays\u00a0
\n\tLocates information for students and lecturers\u00a0
\n\tAssists students with research and assignment preparation.\u00a0
\n\tAssists students who are computer illiterate, In addition to these typical duties, may perform other duties as assigned and required.\u00a0<\/p>\n
Minimum Requirements:<\/p>\n
Qualifications<\/p>\n
\tBachelor\u2019s degree in library and information science.
\n\tHonours degree in library and information science.<\/p>\n
Experience<\/p>\n
\tMinimum of 2-3-year working experience in a relevant field,
\n\t3-4 years working in the academic Information Centre.<\/p>\n
