Financial\u00a0recovery\u00a0and sustainability<\/p>\n
\tAssist Manager and the Section Head in scheduling, monitoring laboratory work and executing thereof for the purpose of invoicing timeously.
\n\tAssist the Manager and the section head to ensure that planned work is achieved on time (meeting TAT) within prescribed scope, approved budget and following applicable requirements.
\n\tAssist the Manager and section head in compilation of the annual budget for the Lab Business Unit including control of expenditure for the purpose on ensuring clean audit.
\n\tAssist Section Head to review Lab Reports for adequacy prior to approval by the Manager for the purpose of preventing delivery of defective\/incorrect products and associated financial losses.<\/p>\n
Technology Development<\/p>\n
\tDevelop project schedules for approved project(s) assigned to him\/her as well as tracking execution of individual project activities to expand the scope of our products and services.
\n\tParticipate in research and development for implementation of the new laboratories, instrumentation, technology, test methods, work instructions, calibration methods, etc. as and when required.
\n\tProvide innovative solution to keep the laboratories competitive in the market.
\n\tFacilitate the design, manufacturing, installation, commissioning, upgrade and modifications of new equipment, utilities, and support systems.
\n\tFacilitate instrument maintenance activities (planned and unplanned) including putting measures to prevent breakdowns that can make the lab unavailable for prolonged periods.<\/p>\n
OHS, QMS\u00a0and Compliance Aspect<\/p>\n
\tFacilitate implementation of automated occupational health and safety monitoring devices\/systems in all labs falling under his or her technical supervision in accordance to OSH Act and SAHPRA requirements.
\n\tPerform required activities to fulfil BBS activities including observing other colleagues and being observed.
\n\tFacilitate proficiency testing activities according to approved schedule and ensure that approved schedule covers items required to remain accredited or acquired additional accreditations in compliance to ISO\/IEC17025.
\n\tFacilitate review and revision of existing procedures (including WI, Test Methods, calibration methods, etc.) and development of new ones in accordance with approved schedule. The above task includes validations and verification as per the lab Quality Management System.
\n\tConduct internal technical assessments (audits) in a lab where he or she is not responsible for day-to-day operations.<\/p>\n
Product development<\/p>\n
\tContribute to product development activities allocated to the lab such as product concept development.
\n\tReview product concept development documents from lab scientists.
\n\tParticipate in competition assessment studies in the markets on which NLS operates.
\n\tPrepare and review fact sheets in consultation with the Manager and Product Specialist for marketing NLS products and services.
\n\tParticipate in at least two marketing events organised by the department in a year.
\n\tParticipate in review of market studies sourced by the CTS Business Unit or as directed by the Manager or product specialist.<\/p>\n
Human Capital Development Aspects<\/p>\n
\tAssist in developing a training matrix of the laboratory to ensure that knowledge is acquired and maintained.
\n\tTransfer knowledge to others as per approved training matrix\/plans.
\n\tAssist personnel acquire necessary skills so that they can be declared competent and approved as Technical Signatories for the lab.
\n\tAcquire training and know how on new instruments \/ technology and impart to lab technicians and scientists.
\n\tKeep his\/her professional certification up to date.<\/p>\n
MIMINUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:<\/p>\n
Qualifications<\/p>\n
\tBSc Honours Degree in Industrial Physics or Applied Radiation or Chemistry or Physics or Equivalent.
\n\tMSc Degree will be an added advantage.<\/p>\n
Experience<\/p>\n
\t3-5 or more years\u2019 experience in lab operations.
\n\t3-4 years practical experience of Microsoft Excel, MS Word, Power Point, Share Point, and LIMS.
\n\tCertificate in SANAS ISO\/IEC 17025 Systems and ISO 9001.
\n\tBe legible to be registered as Radiation & Chemical Worker
\n\tProfessional Certification in Natural Sciences or legible for certification.
\n\tBe eligible to be registered Metrologist in the calibration field.
\n\tCertification on SANAS requirements as a Technical Signatory on accredited methods.<\/p>\n
