Responsibilities:<\/p>\n
Maintenance Planning and Execution<\/p>\n
\tLead, mentor, and supervise a team of civil maintenance technicians, providing guidance, training, and support as needed.
\n\tDevelop and implement maintenance schedules for civil structures to ensure optimal performance and longevity.
\n\tImplement preventive maintenance programs to extend the lifespan of machinery and equipment, reduce breakdowns, and minimise repair costs.<\/p>\n
Quality Assurance and Control<\/p>\n
\tConduct regular inspections of civil infrastructure to identify maintenance needs and prioritise repairs.
\n\tDiagnose mechanical problems, develop solutions, and oversee repairs to restore equipment to optimal working condition.
\n\tEnsure compliance with safety regulations and protocols, promoting a culture of safety awareness among team members.
\n\tKeep accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment manuals, and maintenance logs.<\/p>\n
Budget Management and Cost Control<\/p>\n
\tAccurately forecast maintenance costs based on historical data, upcoming projects, and potential emergencies.
\n\tAllocate budget resources effectively to cover regular maintenance, repairs, and unexpected expenses.
\n\tEstimate costs for maintenance activities, including labor, materials, equipment, and outsourced services.
\n\tPerform cost-benefit analyses to justify expenditures and identify the most cost-effective solutions for maintenance issues.
\n\tRegularly monitor and track maintenance expenses against the budget, identifying variances and taking corrective actions as necessary.<\/p>\n
Team Leadership and Supervision<\/p>\n
\tAnalyse regular staff establishment reports, identify risks and ensure that corrective measures\/relevant management actions are implemented.
\n\tFill vacant posts in line with Senwes policies and procedures.
\n\tTake action where necessary to materialise EE objectives.
\n\tArrange for induction of all new personnel to familiarise them with Senwes and the section\u2019s activities.<\/p>\n
Performance Management<\/p>\n
\tContract performance before D-date:
\n\tSet clear performance standards.
\n\tCommunicate expected outcomes.
\n\tObserve and monitor performance and evaluate performance quarterly.
\n\tGive constructive feedback and provide guidance to personnel.<\/p>\n
Requirements<\/p>\n
\tN6 in Civil Engineering. Candidates with a relevant management certificate will receive preference.
\n\t3+ years of experience in civil construction, experience in supervisory roles will receive preference<\/p>\n
