Students enter the College through the gateway of the Junior Prep on the lower campus, a co-educational school of 480 girls and boys in Grades R to 2. From Grade 3 onwards, the boys and girls move into separate Preparatory Schools of 400 students each. A second \"gateway\" into St Stithians is offered to entrants of Grade 8 as they embark on their high school journey in the Boys\u2019 College of 780 students and the Girls\u2019 College of 530 students. A number of benchmarks, both national and international, provide a framework for evaluating quality. As a member of ISASA, the College participates in the cycle of institutional evaluation provided through the Independent Quality Assurance Agency (IQAA) and St Stithians is accredited by Umalusi, the South African certification authority. Grade 12 students write the matriculation examinations of the Independent Examinations Board (IEB). Our matriculants achieve at a high level, with 96-98% obtaining Bachelor degree passes for entry to South African universities and universities in Europe, North America and Australia.
